I was curious about the ergonomics of chairs made specifically for standing desks such as lab stools and drafting chairs but it sounds like they probably aren’t as good? I know HM make drafting chairs as well but I’d probably want to avoid dropping that much money on a chair again.

Obviously standing is part of the equation but I think most people would struggle to stand all day. I’ve tried a regular office chair but didn’t like having to adjust the desk up and down (mostly due to poor cable management on my part).

I’ve been thinking about getting a drafting chair or lab stool so I can just step away from it and keep the desk at the same height when I want to stand. Would love to hear anyone’s opinions.

    Hi friends,

I’ve been enjoying listening to audiobooks a lot lately but find I generally have to be doing something (e.g. going for a walk, doing dishes etc) while I listen to them since it would be strange to just sit in a chair and stare and if I closed my eyes I might fall asleep.

I have found a couple of mindless games I can play on my phone while listening that don’t distract me from the story such as temple run, desert golf and amazing brick, but I’d be interested if anyone else had any suggestions?

I’d also be open to more substantial games as well so long as they didn’t have a lot of dialogue or require a lot of brain power (I’ve found trying to solve chess puzzles while listening to the audiobook just distracts me too much from the book for example).

    Thanks in advance!

Very true, and it can make a huge difference in max load. Probably less of an issue with Olympic bars but I’ve seen standard ones that are only rated for 70kg 😬

Very true. Having too much high quality content sounds like the opposite of a problem, but I was going to be buried in unread magazines.

I have the Open Run Pros and like them a lot for running. But some of the marketing is quite misleading. It makes out like the bulk of the sound is coming via bone conduction and that others won’t hear your audio, but the truth with my model at least is there is a dedicated speaker as well as bone conduction and that speaker provides most of the audio. Also, it’s extremely easy to hear that audio just by being near it. This isn’t an issue for running, but if using it as an everyday headset, I could see it being an issue since it literally sounds like a mini speaker.

My biggest issue with the New Yorker from when I subscribed was that weekly was too frequent for me. I’m a fairly slow reader and found that in addition to my usual reading, I just didn’t have time to get through all of the long form articles in each issue each week. This resulted in having a huge backlog that would just accumulate. I felt bad skipping any because I always enjoyed the writing, but there was just too much for me to handle.

I believe it’s also not just a free personal account but also a free family account. I got my entire family on 1Password for free through the corporate plan. It’s a great idea since a common attack vector for business accounts is through personal accounts that may be connected in some way.

This is a fantastic approach and one that I try to take myself. I was also in this camp myself a few years ago before diving deeper in my understanding of tech.

This is such a fantastic response. You've summed up the camps perfectly. The pseudo literate camp is one that I have encountered frequently. They have some of the right ideas but generally refuse to look any deeper than raw specs and so to them, the iPhone will always be inferior to the $200 alternative that has more RAM and CPU cores.
