No, it's not. It simply isn't the same, at all.

NFTs are just receipts for art ownership. That's like saying the mona lisa is just paint on a canvas.

I know this doesn't add anything to the conversation, but I got a chuckle out of your username in relation to this comment. It's definitely something ol' grimey would have also complained about.

Yeah, this seems similar how a while back people found out they could "reactivate" cores in certain AMD CPUs which had been just locked out to sell them as 6 core instead of 8 core chips.

That's on Trump for picking a private company for his messages, not an issue for Twitter to treat those messages responsibly.

It might be on Trump, but it doesn't change the fact that this policy would force a person to join Twitter to see what the president is saying. And the comparison to a NYT paywall isn't very good, as the NYT doesn't track what I do after I buy the paper from the newsstand.

    Michigander here.

Just wanna chime in and say that I know some people who might go to that sort of rally, and it's not because they feel any more helpless than they did before.

It's part tribalism, politics as team sports, but it's also an "I'm not gonna let the government tell me what to do" attitude which a lot of people in the state have. The gun carrying guys fit into both, but they just really wanna flex, they literally dream of it, and realized that now they can.

I've seen a lot of that too. I live in Michigan, and even though we're one of the worst hit states, a lot of my relatives seem to think the same thing. It's disheartening. We might just be on the verge of slowing the spread of this virus, and people are wanting to "re-open"... as if that won't undo all the effort we've put in already. It makes no sense.

If someone who has never suggested that they share my values, suddenly starts saying they do, I'd think they're lying, being an opportunist.

The platform doesn't matter when the person running on it hasn't shown they actually believe in it.

Now I see people saying Biden's campaign is to the left of Clinton's in '16.

Biden suggests lowering the ability to get medicare to 60 years old. Hillary suggested 50-55 back in 2016... How's Biden to the left?

There's no reason to believe he will actually fight for any of these new things he's including in his campaign, because he never supported them before. Did he have some sudden turn of heart? Three ghosts visit him? Please...

Nobody is saying Sanders "invented progressive policy" and its just a fact that he's been "progressive" far longer than Warren, who was a registered Republican until '95.
