There is no dust filter on either the side or top (there are filters on the bottom and front)

But something that did occur to me - and I don't know why I wasn't thinking about it - is that I don't actually have anything installed in the top-right chassis and can remove it to have access to 3 top fans. And from what you're saying of right-to-left, it does sound like that would be a better choice. So that would look like this instead (case came with 2 fans [top front and back], so will have 7 fans total):

    Thank you!

I've never actually put in more fans than what a case comes with, but I have an unraid server that is running hot so I got a pack of 5 fans to put in it.

From what I understand, you want them set up so that there is a solid airflow throughout the case; ie I'm planning to set it up so that the front and bottom fans are intake and the top and back fans are exhaust, so that cool air enters from the front/bottom and exits out the back/top.

However, one of the fans will be going on the side door. I'm assuming this wants to be intake as well (so that the airflow goes through the entire case, as I assume it would disrupt the airflow as exhaust). Or would it be better to not have one on the side and just have an extra fan laying about?

This is how I plan to set it up (shout out to MS Paint): https://ibb.co/KcXx5cgW

Note: The X's are because the installed chassis block being able to put fans there; the bottom one is especially disappointing as it's the HDDs that are mostly getting hot

Just wanted to confirm that that set up looks good and that intake for the side one (where the ? is) is the proper choice

Like you said, the only way I've lost weight is via significantly calorie reduction. I actually find exercise to be WORSE for me when it comes to losing weight. If I work out, my body is screaming for food - whereas I can fast for an entire day just fine if I'm living the normal unmoving American life

Thankfully, after deleting the Google app, the "digital assistant app" setting page just shows "none" and the phones been working a lot smoother without any of that

Adding another twist on the Old Fashioned: instead of cherry and an orange peel for garnish, I just dunk half a mandarin into the drink. Makes it more citrus-y (which I prefer), as well as giving a tasty treat at the end as the mandarin soaks up the alcohol. I use brown sugar instead of normal sugar as well.

I also use orange-flavored bitters, I guess I should just call it a Citrus Old Fashioned lol

I actually wasn't taught how to ride a bike until I was an adult either. What worked for me was finding a road with a low grade slope in a neighborhood without much traffic and just solely focusing on keeping balance while leveraging gravity for the movement of the bike - then once I got that down, added in stuff like pedaling, pushing off myself, etc. Since the "balance" is the hardest part, it helped keep the scope limited to only that - the other things might not seem like much, but it all adds together as moving parts.

How has she been doing at it?

Oh man, thank you so much for the breakdown! Yeah I've been assuming that's going to be more "hire a professional" thing (especially because of other plumbing issues), but trying to start tackling things in life myself first before asking for help.

Would that also be usable on a toilet? Eg I guess that'd be making the toilet water soapy/vinegary and flushing that?

Thank you for the suggestion (and @rip_rike for a specific example)! I've mostly been working on the rest of the house first and have been able to empty them out and rip our the carpets (also hoarded pets) and such...but there definitely is still this lack of feeling of "cleanliness" and seeing their whole processes will help a lot with that.

Would that be doable in a toilet? I'd assume that would be turning the water to the toilet off and flushing out all the water, dumping stuff down, and then turning the water back on

Naw necro bump it baby! That's the point

Coming from the opposite end - I'm pro a fully automated system (though do understand enjoying the variance), and I thought I wouldn't like it seemed like a half-assed measure. But I gotta say, it's flowed a lot better than I thought it would. Like you said, it's only a very small amount of time to get the judgement and it all figured out. Given I haven't seen a ST game and have only seen clips of the ABS system in action.

I also think the fact that players aren't doing very well helps show how valuable the umpires are - while I am pro a full ABS system, I also do think there is a vitriol problem towards umpires within the baseball fan community. And when players lose their shit, it just adds to their fuel for those fans. This helps really show just how talented umpires are and shuts the annoying players up.

And still having the benefit of making sure a call is correct in important moments, which is why I am pro-ABS. So while I was anti the idea in theory, in practice I think it actually is a good middle ground - you still have the human element from a macro level on the game in umpires, while still giving players some power in correcting a call.

Kitchen was in a house of hoarders and has had various roach infestations over the decades. It is something where I cannot mentally use the kitchen with all of the memories of opening a dish drawer/cabinet and having roaches run out, and so part of this deep cleaning (and making this thread) is to quell that mental aspect by literally scrubbing it from top to bottom.

I guess I'm mostly looking for this thread on what product would you use to clean? Obviously the most specific stuff will have their own products (eg the oven) - but it terms of just scrubbing down every inside/outside of every cabinet and shelf and what not, what would you use to say "okay I have peace of mind that this has been cleaned and is safe to use"

But also still looking for general advice, as I've never fully deep cleaned a kitchen. Eg Something I didn't think about but came across was deep cleaning a dishwasher (and I've seen them crawl out of the drain there, so even washing dishes haven't been safe). But I mean macro level it's basically "clean the room and clean the appliances" I imagine lol

...which, and I'm guessing more a plumbing issue than a cleaning one, there is a smell that permeates from drains. It's especially bad in the kitchen sink which does have a garbage disposal (and so I imagine it's mostly take that part and clean it out), but I figured I'd still throw that out there now too for any tips on helping with that

(I've already applied Bifenthrin as an insecticide, and haven't seen anything in the past couple months. I've also completely emptied out the entire kitchen, so I can literally scrub from top to bottom.)

How do you like your mattress? Do you sleep on the floor as well? Or in something that resembles sleeping on the floor?

Actually appreciate this thread though not much to add; I used to sleep on the floor every now and then because it would help me feel more relaxed. Put a stop to it when a partner didn’t like it though

At the time I was doing it I was also rather fit and active - I had started it specifically because of having sore muscles and wanting as close to sleeping on a foam roller as possible. And yeah, I’d wake up feeling a lot more refreshed. I’d only do it like once a month though when I was feeling particular sore, just sleeping straight on the carpet floor with a pillow and blanket

My ignorant ass-theory is that it’s good if you’re in shape as it applies pressure to the muscles to help relax them - now that I’m overweight, I kinda assume all that added weight and less muscle would be worse on the body

You might be interested in this thread about DIY mattress, I had saved it to look into more myself - I haven’t been fully happy with any mattress purchase I’ve made over the years. But being able to just make it as firm as you want would probably help: https://tildes.net/~life.home_improvement/19sc/what_are_your_diy_mattress_experiences

Nothing really “scary” with it, the trailer ruined some parts for me, and I do think it leaned a bit too much into humor in regards to some of the dialogue at the end…but overall a very well acted (with fun cameos/bit parts) and well made movie. One of those “recommended if you want a solid ~90 minute movie”, which have gotten rarer with time
