I literally bought her for $35 entirely in loose change I had been saving up for years when I was broke; and even knowing how to play multiple instruments now, she's always my first go-to when I want to play something. It really is a great instrument to just be able to pick up and play something. Especially with traveling and such.
She also has a brother now, Hans, who I also get a lot of joy out of - he's an electric soprano from Germany (not where I expected to get a ukulele imported from lol), and oh man as someone who mostly listens to music with a lot of distortion is it fun to mess around with the sound you can get out of something so small

That is not to say that every summary does, but its a preventative measure
As for other things - the easiest way to explain it is there is a difference when a product is an experience. The point of an experience is to “feel things”, and so if the “feeling things” are numbed than the experience is numbed. To me what you’re talking about is the equivalent of looking a band up on YouTube to get an idea of what their live show is like before going to a concert - why ruin the experience you’re about to have?
(Don’t get me wrong, I have looked up videos of what a bands live show is like; but for concerts I wasn’t interested in, to see if I then would be. But this is strictly talking about “things there is already an interest in”, and I mentioned the auxiliary methods for that [following directors and genres, and following those with similar past taste - and going blind from there])
Which actually I think is why I hate it when it has happened to me: it has made the experience feel like only a product. And I specifically try to avoid experiences that do so (because they pull stuff like only giving half a product)
And yes, that 100% goes for the gaming depending - there’s a huge difference between a game that is meant to be an expression and a game that’s meant to test your logic skills
Eg Hellblade Sensua is one I’ve been avoiding any type of anything for years as I’m looking forward to experiencing that on VR with a blank mind
But I will look at reviews for deck builders, because there is nothing to experience I really haven’t yet
Actually typing that just reminded me of Insydious, and so can even happen to deck builders. Like I said, I follow genres. A friend recommended at as a deck builder but it’s an experience. So I’ve shut down any further input on that and will wait until I experience it
Edit:
I don't think studios have a responsibility to put "Part One" at the end of every title of every first movie in a series though
To be clear, and I think most people agree since Spiderverse is where people keep pointing, that it is a lot less about “part one in a series” and more “part one in a single story”
If this ends up being 3 different movies, which I think it is, I don’t really care they don’t put that it’s part one. That’s more a “universe” kind of thing.
But if a movie ends without tying up the story, and it was advertised as being a complete movie, that is false advertisement for me. And that’s what started the whole comment chain: a user complaint about a single movie, not a series, being broken into parts and not being advertised as such

It's very common to consume a "helper" with spicy food. Again for myself sticking with Indian food, yogurt is a very common ingredient/side in order to help with the spiciness’ effect on the stomach
I would just try the oat milk with it first, but I can't find anything on that specifically. However, a study did find soy milk to do the trick: https://www.psu.edu/news/research/story/proteins-milk-not-just-fat-may-help-reduce-oral-burn-spicy-food
Basically anything that's high fat and high protein

After all, the whole entire point is to consume what's about it during the movie - doing so before ruins the experience.
I find movies by following directors and genres, and friends/acquaintances with similar tastes in both.
My expectation is that movies are not cut into parts; and so if it is, it should be advertised as such to your customer base. That way I know to just wait for the second one - cuz I don't want to watch half a movie (which is my assumption of why they don't tell you: because they are scared you'll wait. AKA marketing manipulation)
To be fair, I rarely watch movies that this has happened to me. Most recently was the Spiderverse movie, and the only other time I can think of was when Pirate of the Caribbean 2 came out.
I've seen bad movies, but those two times were the only times I've left a theater feeling any semblance of upsetness/wasted time.

While I love spicy food, I refuse to have it unless I have dairy to consume it with. I don't know our biology well enough to know if "coating" the stomach is correct in what it does, but is does make a big difference to have some dairy before/during/after eating spicy food for me. Because yeah, it can be worse going out than in.
But getting some Indian Hot food with a tub of ice cream is legit probably my favorite eating experience. Local place would make their own in house hot sauce with naga peppers to put on top too

But also those curve balls add so much to the hilarity. For instance, I knew I was going to love the show in the first episode when he posited the question "Do you think mankind is going to make a comeback?": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovFFEKBWAC8 (and of course how curve ball it gets after that lol)

So we can sort the new page by new activity, but I do not see any way to reference when that "new" is. The only reference on the front page I can see to there being new content is in threads I've already accessed - where I get a notification there are new comments in the thread. If I didn't access the thread, but come back later, there is no notification that there has been activity within that thread. The only date listed is when the thread was created, and not when last activity was had. Is there more I'm potentially missing to see when a thread was last active from the front page?
In that same vein, is there a way to mark a thread as "read" besides going into it after new comments have been made?
Asking for what I'm looking for in a different way: Is there a way to filter out comments since last visit? Eg on old forums, there were "activity since your last visit" links - basically exactly like how the notification system works here, but a thread-based system for all comments instead of a comment-based system that are only responses to you (and in both to get the notification gone, either you interact with it or mark it is read). Is there anything like that?
The wiki only seems to have how to find new comments within a thread itself, and not new comments site wide: https://tildes.net/~tildes.official/wiki/instructions/navigating_tildes

So...Have you listened to the new album yet? I was just about to post on the weekly music chat about it then realized I should just do a search lol
But yeah, man, there's SO MUCH going back for him. So many references to old material, both lyrically and musically. And very much back to that fuzz and distortion that I missed a lot. His ability to create these beautiful hooks surrounded by the distortion is just something I think is amazing cathartic to the heaviness of going through life. So much fuzz and distortion around us, but still a beautiful melody to be found within it.
Not to break down song from song but man, My Canopy especially. I don't know if the "I love you" at the end is a direct reference to the "I love you" at the end of Real Death...but it's hard for me to take it in any other way. And the way he says "I love you" on My Canopy to his daughter, the inflection in the I as he hover on it, -I- love you. With just how defeated he sounds with the "I love you" in Real Death, it just really made me choke up hearing the "I love you" in My Canopy.
I also just love how much the album has to do with this feeling of nothing really mattering. It's an album that, where I am in my life, has hit me massively with what he sings about.
And so I love how it ends with "I Need New Eyes" - first continuing this idea:
I just wanted to say something true
And complicate my youth
But now a new idea complicates my old age:
It's that nothing arises in the first place
All this impermanence is just another thing my mind made
I was never here, and nothing goes away. And then realizing just how dumb it is to come to such a conclusion in totality:
Now I'm staring at a boulder trying to tell myself "This didn't arise"
I need new eyesIt's why I love him so much, how true and real he is able to be in his lyrics - while able to craft these tones that fit the emotion of those lyrics so well. Again, the distortion with the beautiful melodies inside
(The Glow, Pt 2 is possibly my favorite album of all time so yes I am insanely excited for this sound again lol)

It's actually funny because I had an ex-gf I had gotten into playing Othello when we'd go out to a local bar - and it was very hard for me to not say the same to her. And not because I was bored, but literally because it's a bad use of time; rather than spending time in the cerebral thinking about how things might play out, it's better to just do it and see what actually happens - so that next time you'll have that experience to go off of. But, that's not something for me to dictate so kept it to myself.
It was the same thing I experienced when I went to university as an adult - everyone was focused on "what" or "how" to study instead of just...studying. I learned very quickly that "study groups" were actually a bad thing to join, because of the bad study practices within them. Hell I've been experiencing that same thing right now as I've started using this great markdown notes taking program called Obsidian (pretty sure I found it from here lol) and it was frustrating because almost all of the material you'll find for it online only has to do with how to set it up for things you might theoretically want and to look pretty - and significantly less about actual usecases and best practices while using. I honestly feel like I've gotten more out of the program in the couple weeks with nothing but a couple plugins (Templater, Projects, and Dataview) I've used it than a lot of the people who've written guides for it, since I'm actually using it every day and not just thinking about using it lol
Sometimes, what's needed out of a game is to simply experience a board state that you haven't experienced before rather than thinking about things in terms of wins and losses. Sorry to rant about it but I just definitely agree with it haha. And just glad I'm finally able to make my own moves again in the void :) Thank you.

I am legitimately forever grateful for what the internet has given me in terms of being able to read and connect with people I never would have had the opportunity to otherwise, and just how much I've been able to learn about myself from it. Best of luck :)

And so now it's just time to chop off the fat and have what I gained as the takeaway.
And yeah, just how clear what you're talking about is now. Embracing that has been HUGE for me. Because that's how I think life should be lived, and so that's now what I'm doing. I have a update in a top-level comment but what helped me a ton was being able to redefine love. Because now I know what -I- want to do. Which, the answer is "whatever the moment calls for" :)
Actually I will share one of the things I have absolutely loved doing. There a springs state park near me that nobody goes to, because it's in the middle of nowhere and they don't allow drinking. I go on a weekday, when all the kids are in school and people are at work...literally just me floating down a river hanging out with turtles and birds and hopefully one day a manatee. And hopefully not a gator lol, I've stopped going since they'll start going into springs now that all the water in the state is cold.

Wouldn't be surprised if you had to have a similar journey about redefining love with what you've said. But regardless I'm happy for the love that is in your life now.
Oh, and also YES to simpler relationships. I've cut out so much fat and god has it helped a lot. That doesn't just meant cutting people out of my life, just how I interact with other people as a whole. That I'm focused on myself first, and my relationships to other people are just very simple things.

And to your third point I have been on a prescription for ketamine. Which was how I was able to have such a breakthrough.
I personally resort to having my own "head cannon" - after all, it's not like any of it is "real" or "facts" or anything. Which is then borderline fan-fiction...but also it's my entertainment, I can make it as I want.
It's hard because I don't disagree with how unkind it's been, but I also think it's arrogant to claim what should or shouldn't exist; something existing doesn't preclude me from enjoying X without it, so I can enjoy X without it and those that do want it can enjoy X with it. And I think "official" stuff is a lot of times capitalism speech - a lot of "official" stuff is basically just fan-fiction with a budget anyway. Different in this case since it's the actual creative team, but just macro level talking about the age of spinoffs and just plain not taking them into consideration to "deal" with them.
