My mom won a week-long trip to England from a twist-off cap on a drink called Fruitopia. She gave it to my little brother and me and we got to spend a week overseas completely unsupervised. I was 20 and he was 15. It was a really nice trip. We took advantage of all of the things included in the prize (going to Stonehenge, Bath, Windsor Castle) but we also got to just toot around and see London. We were there for the Queen Mother's 90th (I think) birthday celebration and that was really neat because it kind of took over the whole city while we were there. We didn't have mobile phones and we actually wrote letters to drop in the mail to send home. It was a cool trip.

Oh man, this. I LOVED Shadow of Mordor. I don't even consider myself a gamer and I don't play very often at all, but that game got me and I played through it several times. I couldn't wait for the sequel.

But I grew disheartened by it pretty quickly when I was aiming catapults and programming trolls or whatever. It just wasn't the same kind of gleeful tearing ass that the first one was.

For my entry into this thread, it's an old game called Syndicate Wars, the sequel to the first game Syndicate. I spent many nights playing through the first one and I finally beat it after a super long time trying. Like Shadow of War, I was excited for Syndicate Wars and just couldn't get into it. The Zealot angle was kinda cool but the game seemed to be more a showcase of how the camera could move around and you could see behind buildings, which you couldn't do in the first game. I do remember that one of the cheat codes for it was POOSLICE, which has always stuck with me.

My brother and I got in a LOT of trouble the summer that the Howard The Duck movie came out because we dialed the 1-900 number to "talk" to Howard over and over and over. We had no understanding that the 900 numbers cost money each time you called. My mom was furious about that.

Your comment concerns me because at put our pans in the dishwasher every time they are used. I haven’t noticed anything changing in their condition, but I guess the change would be too slow to notice day to day like that. I will try to keep an eye on it (somehow) to detect if the toxic bits are chipping or breaking off. So far they seem fine, but maybe I haven’t been really paying that much attention.

We really like our Ninja nonstick pans. The coating seems really strong on them and doesn’t flake off at all (yet). They seem to be holding up to their claims.

I loved Fallen Order and have been playing through Survivor with my son on the PS5. All of the good stuff about the first game is way better in the second one. The Holomap is usable. Cere's eyes have been relocated into her eye sockets where they ought to be. Greez is hilarious and lovable.

We haven't even really noticed that many of the horrible technical problems that the game seems to have such a bad a reputation for. There is occasionally some pretty noticeable slowdown when you get into an area with too many moving pieces, but it doesn't really happen often enough (for me) to start posting about how much the game sucks. Plus it's clear from little notes of dialog (and a couple of boss battles in particular) that the developers had some fun in putting it together. It's really seemed pretty fine all around.
