    The command line version has been my go-to calculator for the last 15 years. It’s absolutely brilliant at just handling units and SI-prefixes without any fuss or weird syntax.

    It's great there are optional low-contrast themes for people who like squinting or have expensive displays, but please, please use black-on-white body text with the default theme. I think maximizing legibility is important for a text-first kind of website.

    Try Lyx. It’s sort of an easy-mode what-you-see-is-what-you-get TeX editor. I’ve used it throughout university, and quite like it.

    Just be sure to get something with actual knobs. Touch interfaces look sleek, but are so annoying to use when you have a lot going on, and doubly so with wet/greasy fingers!

    I absolutely adore Achewood by Chris Onstad. The 90’s ClipArt-style drawings takes some getting used to, but the dialogue is just fantastic - every character has depth and complexity and their own...
