I’ve been switching between a few games. Like a lot of people I’ve been playing both Final Fantasy XVI and Diablo IV, which I’ve been enjoying, although I’m starting to feel the grind on Diablo before season 1 has even released so I might be burnt out of it by the time it comes out. Final Fantasy XVI I’ve been loving- the combat and cutscenes can be really incredible and at certain points just a huge spectacle that I haven’t seen much in games.

I’ve also been playing a ton of Omega Strikers which is a free to play MOBA sports game which is very fun and one of the only games where I’ve been playing the competitive mode. I’d highly recommend checking it out if it intrigues you at all. It’s on most platforms (even mobile) and has cross play and cross save.

I'll be honest, I also have been feeling drawn back towards Reddit recently, as you said for the specific communities. I also don't enjoy the format of a typical forum, and it's helpful to have one account to access a whole site of communities. As others have said there are Discord communities, but honestly I don't really like the format of Discord for communities, although they do have their upsides. I deleted the Reddit app I was using from my phone which has helped me use it less, although occasionally I will use it on my PC.

I’m glad other people picked up on this too. There are still bits of the podcast that I love, of course when they’re talking about how the show was created on all that, but even when they start going off on certain bits and you can almost see the writer gears turning and you can see in real time how they develop ideas and how they work with one another. I wish there was a lot more of it of course, but it’s nice to see. It would be really cool to see an episode of the podcast that’s just them writing an episode, but I doubt that’s gonna happen.

I’ve been getting back into reading through audiobooks lately and have been listening to the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. As I wait for the next one to be available through the library I started listening to The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss which I’ve been enjoying. Growing up I was a huge reader but never really gravitated towards fantasy for some reason, but I’ve been enjoying finally reading some of the modern staples.

Oof that sucks. Would discourage me from playing hardcore ever again, and is from even starting.

I don't think it's completely underappreciated, but I don't see many people talking about it, but the Bone series by Jeff Smith is good.

It's probably just recency bias but I just played the demo for Final Fantasy xvi and enjoyed it!
