Honestly the worst hurricanes, power outages and flooding of my lifetime were in NC in the 90s - my area of FL has been tame in comparison. Entire surrounding areas were under water for weeks and my family was actually flooded into our small town for about a week as all the roads out were under water. That doesn't happen in my part of FL.

But you're right the insurance bit is worrying. It might influence me to never own a home ..

Not all of Florida is that bad? My parents live about 30 miles north of Orlando, house is 130' above sea level ... lived there since 2004, been through a ton of hurricanes. Had minor damage to the roof a few times, sure insurance paid out ... but it was only a few grand each time. Not a flood risk at all.

You can get damage like that from snowstorms up north etc. Just don't live by the coast.

In regards to the combat, I agree! While I did have some fun, it was very repetitive and not very rewarding, though I went out of my way to kill everything and do every side quest searching for better fights.

This feeling was probably partially because I had not long before that had pretty much 100%'d Elden Ring CO-OP mod with 2 friends and the combat in that is much more challenging, so the combat in HL was a pretty funny but nice change.

I absolutely loved the graphics and level designs too. I think I spent like the first 3-4 hours of the game just exploring the castle and surroundings, not progressing any quests haha.

And yes some of the physics with the combat were pretty hilarious too!

    I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Honestly I didn't like that she was profiting off it, but I had an amazing time playing the game and after seeing the trans characters I felt somewhat redeemed. She's also wealthy enough that whatever she makes from this game really will have no difference in her power so to me in the end "she profits off it" was kind of a moot argument from all those band wagoners.

    Thanks for your awesome reply!

There's literally trans characters IN THE GAME, I believe the devs did it to spite JK Rowling.

One of the bar owners in Hogsmead is so obviously male to female transition, all my friends noticed it independently. She comes up in a few quests and even the main questline I believe.

Google with Gmail/Calendar/Meetings etc is already working on similar stuff, they're not at THAT level yet but as a Google Workspace user/admin at work, they are definitely leaning towards that direction.

They have a chat bot, where for instance a group chat for a department of employees could ask the bot to schedule a meeting, and it would propose a time based on all chat members calendars and their individual schedules.

They recently added something to Gmail which looks up tracking numbers and puts the ETA of your package right under the header of emails containing tracking numbers so it's easier to see.

They have also introduced a new paid add-on called Duet AI which is where most of their more modern LLM stuff is being used.

I wouldn't call the cinematics over the top necessarily. I mean they have that standard Resident Evil feeling. But not over the top like RE5's story was.

With RE4 it will give you the "I've been here before" feeling, but in a new way ... almost like replaying the original game as a dream. I found it to be quite refreshing. Some parts are of the map are shorter than the original and other parts have been expanded upon.

Like the Lake after the village where you fight the massive fish-like monster ... that entire Lake area has been redone and has way more areas to explore now.

Do you mean is it a beautiful game? The graphics are stunning IMO ... I'd basically say it's "The preferred way to play the game" which is not something I'd say often about remakes or remasters.

The RE4 remake was an absolute masterpiece, coming from someone who beat the original game at least 10x between PS2 and PC, including on Professional mode.

Even if you're not really into remakes, I highly recommend picking it up.

It expands on the original story a good bit, so it still has a fresh feeling in the cinematics etc.

He's calling out the fact that obese people are killing themselves with welfare which is not what it was intended for and is absolutely sickening that companies are profiting off it while the rest of the world stands by and watches.

Personally to me it's not satisfying at all, biting into it feels like nothing and you just want more and more ..

I've also noticed a slightly lower amount of seasoning on certain snack foods which again, I believe they've done to get to you "eat just one more" because the last one "wasn't quite right" or "didn't quite satisfy".

I noticed it most with Ritz Sour Cream & Onion Toasted Chips - they are both way more airy and have way less seasoning than they did 10 ish years ago.

It used to be that like 50% of the "chips" had what I'd consider a good amount of seasoning on them, these days it's like 20% so you keep searching for the "good one" and eat way more of the bag.

The nostalgic flavor/satisfaction isn't there so you keep eating.

I think that's why a lot of the newer snacks released have that airy/puffy texture, because it doesn't feel very substantial in the stomach. It's pretty sickening really.

Obese people buying sweets with their welfare ... while harsh ... is a harsh reality.

I worked in a gas station for 3 years in a poor part of town and it was a completely eyeopening experience. 350lb people coming in multiple times a day to buy 44oz sodas and snack cakes/chips/candy etc (and normally not just one per trip)

They'd probably have 3000 calories from that alone plus they ate regular meals as well ..

It's absolutely sickening and shows a part of our society that is ignored and left to basically kill themselves with "food" and our tax dollars.. Plus the burden on our health care system. It's unjust for everyone involved.
