Which Hogwarts House is best?
And why is it Ravenclaw?
I figure we might as well get a thread going about the Harry Potter series of books, show that it is popular and that ~HarryPotter needs to be a thing.
Which Hogwarts house are you? Find some like-minded friends and start the seeds of a community here.
I refuse to answer which house is best, since I think they each have their strengths and lament the corruption that took place in Slytherin.
That said, I'm definitely Ravenclaw. 100%.
Also, has anyone else used the Hogwarts House ambient sound mixers? I'm on mobile and don't have the link handy, but I'm sure Google/a fabulous tildes member will locate it.
Have you tried the all-questions version of the Pottermore Sorting Hat Quiz? It contains all of the variations that the official Pottermore sorting hat could have asked during your sorting. I am very close to being 100% Ravenclaw.
Not a potter fan, but did the test. Apparently 84% Ravenclaw?
Welcome to Ravenclaw, housemate! We're glad to have you with us.
I have taken it! Just now! On your recommendation. I got 91% Ravenclaw, which really rounds up to 100% making my previous claim more or less accurate. š
What were your secondary houses? I'm very starkly Ravenclaw at 93% compared to 35% Slytherin, 31% Gryffindor, and a mere 7% Hufflepuff!
I didn't memorize the % but the order was Gryffindor-Slytherin-Hufflepuff.
Seems Ravenclaw is about half of ~ right now.

I think I'm I'm the minority here with 84% Hufflepuff? I actually got Ravenclaw on the Pottermore test but Hufflepuff was a close second so it's not a huge surprise.
For a long time I was adamant about being Ravenclaw before having my eyes opened to the reality that I'm a Hufflepuff and value bonds with other people over pure knowledge.
I like the notion of primary and secondary houses though, dividing up the why and how of your perspective on the world. In my case, I'd be a Hufflepuff Primary out of valuing communities and people and a Ravenclaw Secondary for being analytical and planning to that end.
Oh...Iām too apathetic for that realization
There's nothing wrong with being a Hufflepuffle! Some of my best friends are Hufflepuffs, bless their hearts.
There's a Pottermore Sorting Hat Quiz that contains all of the possible questions the official Pottermore sorting hat could have asked during your sorting. From my results I'm pretty sure that I would be a Ravenclaw Primary out of valuing knowledge and arcane lore as well as a Ravenclaw Secondary due to my analytical nature.
Taking the Pottermore quiz back when it opened and getting placed into Hufflepuff twice (I think you had to do it again when content for the second book came out?) made me think about it more seriously before realizing it was right and I really am a Hufflepuff.
Rowling released a second version of the Sorting Hat quiz, that allowed the people in Pottermore who had already been sorted to take it again and possibly get a second answer. I'm a fan of that All-Questions quiz from my previous response, it's what my friend groups consider the "definitive" method of being sorted.
Like I said there's nothing wrong with being a Hufflepuff. Each house has its own benefits and downsides, no one is greater than the others despite the mildly incendiary title of this thread.
I'm absolutely a ravenpuff. I'm definitely afraid of toil, so I can't be a complete hufflepuff.
I always thought the part that the diadem of Ravenclaw played in the story was cool so I'll say Ravenclaw.
I can pretend that I would be Gryffindor but I know full well I wouldn't.
I don't expect anyone to believe me, but before the last book was released I somehow predicted to a friend exactly where that diadem was and how it was important to the story, just based on the line in The Half-Blood Prince about a tiara being used as a landmark.
I did too! I remember Harry put it on top of the bust of something? I knew exactly where that thing was once they explained the horcrux diadem thing!
As you could probably tell I'm a Ravenclaw as well. If you'd like to know for certain you can take the Pottermore Sorting Hat Quiz that contains all of the possible questions the official Pottermore sorting hat could have asked during your sorting.
I'm a Hufflepuff! Thanks for posting that link!
Welcome to Hufflepuff! Though I can't really say that, given I'm from Ravenclaw. I'm sure you'll make a wonderful Hufflepuff.
Lots of people in a book forum will be Ravenclaw~ XD If you asked the question in ~sports or ~news you might get a different demographic!
Ravenclaw through and through here. More of the Luna variety, frankly.
I wholeheartedly agree, I'm pretty through and through Ravenclaw as well! I would go so far as to say it's the best house, if there were such a thing as one house being better than any other. I'm something of the inverse, a high-intelligence low-wisdom bumbling professor archetype.
I feel either Ravenclaw or Slytherin is best, but that's based on mostly aesthetics, tbh. If we're talking about what the houses value, then mine would still be Ravenclaw.
You're a Slytherclaw! Happy to have you partially in the house.
I think the sorting hat would try to put me in Ravenclaw, but I'd argue with it to put me in Hufflepuff instead.
I'm apparently a Griffindor according to that quiz. Not sure why, since it says 78% for both that and Ravenclaw, which I'd prefer tbh.
You're a Gryffinclaw!
