    GNU Terry Pratchett.

I've read a majority of his books, but I kind of semi-deliberately stopped reading the rest (scattered about the middle of the series, thanks to library availability) because I don't like thinking that there won't ever be more. Occasionally I'll pick one up, but I feel like they're being rationed. I did read The Shepherd's Crown on release though.

They do not get old. They only get better and better as i'm able to remember more and more little details.

It's like chatting with old friends.

You do what works for you, but I can only say that I would hate to have lost the relationships I have with the books from reading them several times. <3

I'm glad you did read Shepherd's Crown. I think for any Pratchett fan, reading his goodbye to us was so cathartic.

I might start up again now that it's been some time, but I think that was some of the thought process. I did pick up a bundle of the ebooks recently.

I reread the entire series every so often - done it about a half dozen times now - and they all only get more and more precious to me.

I held off in part because I could see the cracks in Raising Steam a bit. In another part so there would always be one more book for me. I'm not sure if I want to read it yet.

The cracks are slightly larger - to me, just felt like he wasn't able to go back and edit and re-edit, it was more a one-time write-through without all the refinement. But still Pratchett.

Certainly but I'm not yet ready to grieve that final story, and that's why I'm holding off.

I hope they stick with the plain embossed Great A'Tuin (is embossed the right word) covers, they look very classy. The newsletter has regular graphic novels type cover, which I'm less hyped for

Embossed is the right word, and given that they have those prepped and it's clearly hardbound, the graphical covers may well be slipcovers for the hardback so people can have their choice.

Oh that's right maybe these will be hardcover with paper slip/dust jackets. The collector in me would never have the heart to throw out a slipcover even if I don't like it ...but on the other hand the hardcover would look so much better. I think the reason I didn't think of it is that graphic novels are usually a sort of glossy paperback that's larger than the standard novel, or else (esp in Asia) a tankouban (sort of like handheld) paperback size . Manga are rarely hardcover, unless they're special collector edition like the Berserk books, which interestingly is also plain embossed.
