    I think these two lists are a perfect case study in the wisdom of crowds over expert opinion. I love this. King has thing he does that I love: He'll write an extensive, meticulous, multiparagraph...

    I think these two lists are a perfect case study in the wisdom of crowds over expert opinion.

    Other readers may argue King isn’t literary enough, but I would argue he just fools you into thinking that because he’s such a propulsive writer.

    I love this. King has thing he does that I love: He'll write an extensive, meticulous, multiparagraph description... then conclude it with something like 'Yea you know Metallica? Like that.'

    And it's very helpful, as sometimes I find myself rocketting through to a climax, and those simultaneously will let me rocket faster, or wake me up to say 'whoa I'm missing stuff.'

    And a technique he'll use to stop you dead in your tracks: After building up an event for like 200 pages, he'll tell you exactly what happened in the first paragraph or two, and then fill out the details.
