    "If at first you don't succeed, lower the bar until you do" funnily enough is also the mantra of an unfortunate number of my personal projects.

    That being said, this is a very cool robot. I am a little surprised that the idea of turning the puzzle wrong side up never got mentioned as an alternative to painting it all white didn't get mentioned. It seems like a reasonable way to do a solid color and strikes me as an obvious solution. Maybe it was so that the title could say "all white puzzle"?

      I wondered about that, but after seeing the issues with edge smoothness I’m thinking the raw cardboard colour maybe wasn’t uniform enough to work? (But also 100% with you that all white puzzle...

        My guess would be that raw cardboard doesn't get picked up as well by the suction cup

        He makes a big deal in the prior video about using a bright light for the background of the picture of every piece so that it's high contrast. All that really matters is that it's opaque.

    I kinda want to see a genre of these kinda of videos but where people do learn to do things that a robot would consider to be incredibly hard. (like folding laundry)
