I think it's a neat idea. It's extreme, in that it removes everything but the calcium of the bones rather than the excess fat of the bloat, but it is neat. Something like that would come in handy...

I made a bash script that uses pandoc to convert my markdown texts to html and uses sed and cat to generate the website. It makes the index of posts based on the folder and file structure automatically. After that i just push everything to my github page. (it's in portuguese)

I think simplicity is a good thing to aim for. The world is getting far too complicated lately.
That's how cultural movements arise. An commonplace practice inevitably attracts opposition. Bloat attracted minimalists.
I propose we refer to bloat as "Javascript Baroque" and this new counter-movement as "Neoclassical Webdesign".
