Line break inside block quote markdown (Reddit)

Stupid question: How do I create a line break between two sections of block quotes in markdown (doing this for a Reddit comment)? The methods I’ve tried all show up in the text, and I want them to be invisible.

    If I understand what you want to do correctly, you just want a > line in between the two lines? So the before/after would look like... > This is the first line. > This is the second line. > > This...

    Which becomes...

    This is the first line.
    This is the second line.

    This is the first line before a blank line.

    This is the second line after a blank line.

    Is that what you were going for? If not, an example might help.

        This should do it. > quote block 1 - > quote block 2 quick edit: on new.reddit that leaves a bullet. Use instead > quote block 1   > quote block 2

            Its pretty goofy, right? > quote block 1 # > quote block 2 I think that's the tightest you can get it. It looks better with old.reddit, but new.reddit has more spacing.
