I think there's like three different songs in there and I like all of them but none feels like melancholy to me, despite the children playing in the end. So maybe change the title?

Thanks, yeah I kinda yeeted the ambience I was building up midway but I find it interesting that it didn't feel melancholy at all to you. Thanks for the valuable feedback! Time to write something...

Yeah that's kinda subjective. Are you familiar with Belle and Sebastian? Very unlike what you're doing, but they're the kings of nostalgia to me. Listen to We rule the school and If you're feeling...

I really liked it. When the bridge hits it feels like it could be separate song, but I really liked the change. Part of me wanted the chords at the beginning to be played by a piano but that's probably just because of my background. I think the main chord progression is a bit melancholy but the rest of the piece actually get pretty upbeat or cheery. If I was to change anything, I would add a melody (you're track is screaming at me that it wants one). And it would be catchy as fuck with a good melody. But I'm not an EDM guy, I'm a classical dick, so take that as you will. It's a good mix and a great track, you should be proud.
Thanks a ton for the detailed feedback. They are! It's a Yamaha C3 Neo layered on top of an analog synth emulation. Or are you referring to a different section of the track? I feel like I'm...

I feel like I'm misconstruing what you've written because the melody kicks in at 0:30. I'm guessing you were referring to the part where it turns into a full-on cheesy edm track? :)
Thanks again for your feedback, I, too, was a classical musician in a past lifetime, but there's nothing frightfully interesting going on here in terms of harmony haha
Haha, you're right, I always swap harmony and melody. I was referring to that section, it doesn't really sound like a piano to me, it sounds like my old keyboard. But again, I really like the...

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day; I made this track and would like to know how it makes you feel! Any thoughts/criticisms welcome :-)

Edit: melancholia too, of course.
Well, it's called Meh-lancholy so maybe the title is right then?
Maybe so.

This is nice. Sounds familiar too. I love the switch-ups.
Thank you!!
