Acapellas
Does anyone know of any good acapellas or tracks with good vox? I don't really have a specific tone/feel in mind. Anything, really!

Aww, thanks, this means a lot to me! Here's a sc link if you'd prefer that: https://soundcloud.com/sundarristaken/love-you-back-madeon-sundarr-remix
Totally missed this thread! The remix is here
I've been working on a remix of Madeon's Love You Back.
As it turns out, throwing edm and pop into a blender is pretty interesting. I know it's been done to death but the results are interesting nonetheless.
Some of the elements that I borrowed from my edm experience include sidechaining for that groove; filter sweeps (I get quite a bit of mileage out of them in this track); white noise/pitch risers; LFO on the volume envelope for the drop synth; frequency-band-specific sidechaining to clean up the mix.
As for the pop side of things, I used the following: a 'muted' kick; preserved the original tempo of 106BPM; eschewed any prominent buildups (the buildup to the drop is almost nonexistent)!; simplified the chord structure (I think I use just 2 chords in the entirety of the verse and chorus); added some vocal shouts/adlibs (?)
Anyway, pretty fun week! Happy Friday y'all
Hi folks,
I'm back again with another remix. This time it's a recently released track by one of my favorite artists (I love artists that just straight up provide the studio quality acapellas 🙏).
My hope with this track is that it isn't too electronic. I'm trying to incorporate some of the electronic music techniques I'm familiar with in what is essentially a pop track for the summer.
Living in northern VA? You're not living in VA, you're in the DC suburbs, and may god have mercy on your soul.
Haha, NoVa it is! Is it the traffic?
Herndon/Reston :) and thanks for the tip!
hi tildians,
i'll be moving to VA pretty soon. if there's anyone who's lived there, and could possibly share any tips, that would be nice! and I mean anything -- places to check out, info for people out of state, etc.
thanks!
What does this imply? Does DNSSEC prevent forwarding to a different domain (sort of like CORS)?
My dad has spent extensive time in Tbilisi and has very fond memories! We're still in contact with some of the locals -- they're very warm and amicable :)
Hoping for the best for you!
I hate how cumbersome it is and opt-in by default. Wish we could have legal protections to make things like these easier to file...
Something I cooked up in the last few days. Not too happy with it, but...thoughts?
Tash Sultana is the bee's knees! Glad to see someone else enjoy their work :))
Ooof this hurts to read. I have the same thing going on at work with Jira tickets!
Hmm there's a lot in my graveyard but the most notable are:
But fwiw, I count them as 'wins' because they helped narrow down the scope of what I was looking for by realizing all these hobbies had things in common that I did not quite jive with.
It's not just you, a lot of people struggle with telling different bitrates apart. Here's a good one, for reference: http://abx.digitalfeed.net/
Well this isn't different in the sense that it's unique or anything, but I've always had a sort of fecund mind for music. When I was in school, I remember that moment so vividly -- I was staring out the window at a tree, somewhat listlessly, while my mind kept generating catchy melodies, and I wondered why I wasn't doing something in my life that had music as a focal point. I had my own primitive method for jotting down melodies which was admittedly, very inefficient. I still do have dreams where I hear the sweetest music I've ever heard and just before I can wake up from this half-asleep state, it fades away. Or maybe take some inspiration from our friend Dali?
Or maybe it's possible that my capacity for critically judging an idea is greatly diminished when I'm in the throes of slumber...?
