Art Fight is happening next month, are you participating?
For those that don't know, Art Fight is a collaborative creative project that sorts artists into two teams and lets them upload their original characters. In order to score points for your team, you have to draw the other team's characters, with more involved and polished artworks scoring higher points. I'm participating for the fourth time this year, and if you're going to as well, feel free to drop your art fight URLs in the comments so we can follow and "attack" one another!
I haven't heard of this before, but I love art competitions and excuses to make art. Character art isn't my typical arena but why not try it out! This might be a fun exercise for me. I'm going to have to make up some characters here... but for now I'll drop my art fight profile despite it being mostly empty.
Virtual highfive! I hope the you enjoy the experience, there are all kinds of characters and shenanigans. Each year there's an artist who does an enormous piece of work with characters as those fluffy worms. It's a big meme within the community! The News section is a good place to see what's been going on. And you can checkout last year's results to see some of the fun stuff that popped up! There's also the official discord. General chat there moves at the speed of sound but there's a fair amount of fun, and people have lots of tips to offer.
Signed up last night after reading this post. I had no idea it existed, but it sounds like fun. Not to mention, a wonderful excuse to play with the new ipad and pencil.
I am absolutely tickled pink that there's some people here now that know about artfight!! I will indeed be participating, this will be my seventh year participating. I always try to set goals about what I want to achieve, but more often than not I don't get to them. It's hard sometimes because there are sooooo many younger participants who are on summer break for college/highschool/etc. so they have so many more hours to poor into it. But I might take a couple days off to get some good attacks in :)

This is neat... I am a little confused though. Is an attack just drawing someone else's character?? So to play, I would have to put my own characters in there to be attacked? This is the cutest game ever by the way.
Yes! You upload your characters to the site so others can "attack" by drawing your character and you "attack" by drawing other peoples' characters.

Art Fight reminds me of another art collab. Have you heard of War for Rayuba? Artists create an original character and have them battle other artist's characters. I saw a video about it and it seems pretty epic.
Unfortunately for me, my artistic skills are lacking. I'm only capable of drawing a stick figure.

I heard mixed things -- some people thought it sounded interesting but ended up being way more restricting than it sounded, and others said it was a cool way to meet cool new artists
I don't personally have an interest in participating but i'm still curious about it!
