Uff, I used to teach and I'd sometimes end up on loan for summer classes etc. Schools always seem to allocate the worst of their "classroom stock" for these kinds of things, so I ended up doing a weekly class with a blackboard (it was a dark green, really) and the chalk dust was awful. I'd beat out the wiper before each class and get rid of clouds of dust, but when you write on the board, you could just see a stream of dust falling from the chalk tip. And of course you get it on your hands, then clothes, then phone/laptop. Whiteboards are such a huge jump. I left the industry before smartboards really kicked in, but hopefully they're another step along.

I requested a second blackboard to replace the whiteboard.
Using OneNote on the projector for more permanent notes and the blackboard for quick mathematical work is perfect. On longer workings I can mute the projector and work on both chalk boards. It is absolutely beautiful.
Blackboards are far superior to whiteboards, especially if you buy some decent chalk (Hagoromo). The main issue being whiteboard pens that dry out after what seems like 2-3 days of use. Also there are way more colors of chalk easily available vs. the typical black, red, green and blue of whiteboard markers.
Odd that they don’t really mention whiteboards. I don’t think I’ve seen a blackboard in decades.

I'm over chalkboards -- I'll take a Surface Hub instead. Infinite surface area, access to wolfram, and so on.
