So, some of you know I write novels. Well, the novel-writing world isn't super awesome right now (sad trombone music) and I've been trying to figure out what makes sense going forward. Well, as luck would have it, a friend of mine asked me to write a couple of OSR adjacent adventures for his TTRPGs.
It was a blast.
And even better, he loved them!
So, I'm working on amassing some of the rule books for the more popular games and putting some energy into adding adventure writing to my corpus in 2026.
It's all we can do. Keep trying. Keep swinging at things, even if the world is on fire :)
I decided a bit on the late side to knit some Christmas gifts, so am currently trying to power through making a pair of socks (and then will have to say that more is coming after Christmas). I do leg down socks, and have done almost 5 inches of the foot on the first sock, which I started on Friday. So I may be able to finish a pair before Christmas, but I only have until the 20th for this pair. Also, I have noticed with this yarn that I am a lot better at picking out nuances of colours, and that is probably due to the fact that for work I do a lot of colour mixing with programming lights for events
I've been obsessing over this modular and parametric 3D Printable terrarium ideas lately, but have been having issues with executive function and actually doing it.
Currently though I'm looking for someone who does freelance 3D Sculpting who can do organic or ornate designs. I have some very unique ideas and while I have experience with CAD but I am terrible at anything organic or sculpted. I'm looking for things like scifi containment canisters, tree stumps, elvish design, etc.
I recently moved, which involved rediscovering little projects that had been forgotten or put aside indefinitely. Since the new place is bigger I had space for a worktable, so I picked up something from IKEA, set it up, and got cracking. I had a painting that had gotten loose from the tape holding it to the mat, so it was hanging at a tilt, and I retaped it; the frame on another picture had come apart and I had to rejoin the pieces (3D printing the replacement bits). Lastly I had an old espresso grinder with a doser handle that had lost its spring, so I dismantled that and got a spare spring from the husband, which turned out to be just the right length and springy enough. Now that they all back to rights, I can give them away with a good conscience.
