Comprehensive pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure is a passion of mine I so often see echoed from the left so I was incredibly excited to find this example of cross isle participation!

I think this is through-line of the article for me. Really cool article and I also love to read about actually decent bike infrastructure in the US!

“One of the things smart cities are doing is not drawing a distinction between riding a bike for transportation purpose and a recreational one,” says Darren Flusche, a senior planner for transportation consultancy Toole Design. “What it boils down to is having a well-connected transportation network, and if you are distinguishing how it is used, you are missing the point.”

Totally! Our town is updating the general plan to align with the new housing regulation in California and it is mind blowing to see just how progressive and thoughtful planning with in the 90s......

I'm hoping to circulate articles like this to get the ball rolling this time around for some actual mandates for city works.

Cycling is such a great alternative for close-mid range transport! I cycled heavily on my college campus. I also grew up not terribly far from Carmel and its a nice city, so this doesn’t surprise...

I also grew up not terribly far from Carmel and its a nice city, so this doesn’t surprise me that much! I think in larger more car centric cities like LA and houston, cycling could be a really good investment for their future alongside trains of course.

So good to see. I'm not au fait with US politics, but great to see the spot light on another city doing the right thing.
