Japan seems more willing to consume crazy limited edition foodstuff than other countries. Kit Kats are not the only thing like this. There is also a brand of chocolates called Tirol which is made in over 100 flavors. They're also more willing to try 'high-tech' foodstuff; in japan, you can buy a diet coke with fiber added so it has "negative calories".
I've had a decent number of the different types, and have been to some of the stores devoted to Kit Kat in Japan. Some of them are quite good, though some are a little too far on the sweet side...

I can get both of those flavors from local japanese markets. But there are so many more in Japan. Some can only be found in certain regions. There is a somewhat famous creme brulee flavored kitkat...

There is a somewhat famous creme brulee flavored kitkat that you have to toast to eat properly. It's very good, but it feels a little silly to put such a tiny snack in the oven.
I've tried the creme brulee one. It was ok, kinda mostly sweet. Didn't taste like creme brulee. I was too lazy to toast it, so my friend did it for me :p

Has anyone tried these? The green tea or strawberry KitKats are amazing

My wife really likes this "Sublime Bitter" one that's made with dark chocolate: https://nestle.jp/brand/kit/inbound/en/chocolatory/product.html
I had a ton of the green tea Kit Kats when I was in Tokyo last year. Delicious!
