I don't think most people will realize how huge a deal this is. Morels are one of the world's most prized mushrooms (for good reason, they're absolutely delicious), but up until now they could only be picked in the wild, or cultivated outdoors in a select few regions (with limited success), which significantly restricted their yields. And as a result, they're bloody expensive! ~$80-100 for a 100g dried bag of them where I live.

But if this is genuine, and can be successfully scaled up, that could make these culinary beauties much cheaper, more accessible, and fresh ones (instead of just dried) more widely available. And I for one am super excited, and looking forward to being able to include them more often in my mushroom risotto, instead of just as a once a year treat to myself.

Science, if you're listening, plz do truffles next! ;)
