But what does this mean for his blossoming American Girl Doll shoemaking career?!?
Per his Instagram, he's still "busting his ass" to get it off the ground. "Please buy more shoes!"
That's the thing about passion projects, they don't always make money and you still need to pay the bills. He's playing it smart, making sure he has a steady paycheck until the business takes off.
I know there are a few D20 / BLeeM fans here, so thought this might pique some interest.
I've not watched too much Critical Role, but I'll likely check this out. It also sounds like things at Dropout/D20 are going quite well which is good to hear.
If you want to dip a toe into CR but with Brennan, check out the Calamity miniseries.
CR is too long for me - 4 hours a week for years is way too much. I'm gonna try this arc because I do love Brennan's style but I may not stick with it.
He's still on D20 and Worlds Beyond Number is one of my favorite podcasts (he'll be taking a break from the DM chait there with Erika Ishii hopping in) so I'm excited for the next however long of Brennan!
His Instagram post said he's "finally playing almost as much tabletop as [he'd] like to"
That's been my take on it as well. I find it hard to continue to focus on the story as well when it's bogged down with the players going on weird tangents. I listened to a few episodes of campaign two while driving, and watched a few live streams with my partner, as she's into it.
Now the animated Amazon shows...those are excellent. It's Critical Role with an editor. I've enjoyed Vox Machina so far, and we have a new season of that forthcoming, and a Mighty Nein one on the way too.
The length of CR has always been my issue as well. I did watch the Calamity miniseries and loved it!
I remember it extra fondly as I watched it mostly from a hospital bed while recovering from a minor surgery, it was great to have something long form to focus on.
Spoiler from the final episode
The scene between Asmodeus and Zerxus is one of my all time favorite actual play scenes.
