I don't usually pay attention to game news, but Stellaris Nexus looks interesting. It looks like it's aiming for shorter multiplayer games -- anyone who's tried organizing a group to play a 4X game knows how difficult it is to actually finish the game, given scheduling issues and the level of commitment required.

I felt like this was a massive improvement from previous years. It actually has me hopeful that The Game Awards will be a great time this year. Geoff is such a great ambassador for the medium and you can sense his excitement with whatever he's announcing. But last few years of SGF were such slogs for me personally that 2-4 announcements I would be genuinely excited about would have just worth reading about on Twitter.

I guess even outside of the Nintendo Switch, the industry had some pretty high-profile games have a lot of performance problems in the last year. I'm also just fresh off an evening wasted trying to get Ubisoft Connect to run via Proton and failing. Ah well, Microsoft is gonna make me buy an Xbox one of these days...
