Dragon Ball Z on Toonami. It was just so cool and it made me feel strong and powerful. Even though I was far from that. It also inspired me to get into drawing. So while I do not consider myself a great artist. I can draw decently well. And DBZ has a lot to do with that.

I think the game has exceeded my expectations. After the Diablo Immortal monetization disaster I was really worried it would be as bad as that. And while the monetization is brutal, it's entirely avoidable and I do not feel like it is only path forward to enjoy the game whatsoever. I've played 5 hours or so on my PS5. Mostly through Chiaki4Deck so I can usually get about 3+ hours of playing in rather than playing on the Deck natively. I have decent internet (around 600Mbps over Wi-Fi) and rarely have issues.

    Edit: clarified info

Still, just really adore the game. Just don't recommend the Battle Scars book that's a prequel to the game. It was pointless.

I personally would still go Steam Deck unless you are trying to get the best AAA performance and will play plugged in a majority of the time to use the higher TDP settings. The Steam Deck has a lot of customization options. Plus, the sleep mode on the Steam Deck is great for suspending games. It has over a year of polish now at this point too.

Yeah, they have elements of At the Gates and Entombed that I really just love. It's not overtly polished, nor does it need to be. It just fucking rules.

Imperishable - Come, Sweet Death (death metal)

Leaked a few days before it actually released today. And it's a really nice death metal record.

Listening to the new Scar Symmetry record (melodic death metal) and it's good but I'm not blown away. I'm gonna listen to the new King Krule album. But it seems chill and I'm too sleep deprived to listen to something that relaxing.

If you don't mind a mix. Then I will always recommend Opeth. Especially albums like Still Life, Deliverance, Ghost Reveries, Watershed, etc. But the songs are on the longer side if you don't mind.

The new Cattle Decap record rules. Certainly one of my favorite metal records this year. Fires in the Distance and Omnerod are also worth checking out too.

The thing about metal that's great is that it is actually pretty eclectic with the sub-genres. While there are some gatekeepers that won't consider them "true metal" nowadays (whatever that means). Metallica is definitely metal. They just stopped being a thrash metal band more or less IMO. Some parts of Death Magnetic still have that thrash sound. But Load/Reload are metal albums just not necessarily heavy ones throughout.

You can say the modern crossover metal scene is heavily influenced by bands like Metallica and their contemporaries. While I'm a bit of a classic Metallica fan (...And Justice For All and earlier), I will almost always try whatever they put out at least once.

Except Lulu, I could not finish that album. I genuinely tried.

I felt like this was a massive improvement from previous years. It actually has me hopeful that The Game Awards will be a great time this year. Geoff is such a great ambassador for the medium and you can sense his excitement with whatever he's announcing. But last few years of SGF were such slogs for me personally that 2-4 announcements I would be genuinely excited about would have just worth reading about on Twitter.

I grew up during an era of Nick@Nite when it had The Brady Bunch and I Love Lucy. And I also remember when Disney Channel had the old Mickey Mouse Club and Zorro.

Zorro was so cool to me. My family would find random Zorro things for me as gifts and I just remember finding the premise so cool.

I still need to finish P5R. I've started the game at least 3 times. And really enjoy it. But it is so long and it's hard to make such a commitment. But I love SRPGs and P5T would be more likely to hold my interest. I might have to get Game Pass again when these come out to try out. But between FFXVI in less than 2 weeks I just don't know if I'll ever find the time.
