People like this are probably insane but I love it when someone goes all out into solving something that doesn't need to be solved. He's meticulous and you can tell he put a lot of time into this....

It reminds me of the "no jump Mario" run in a way. It's just as bizarre.

I just looked that up and you're right they're both similarly fascinating videos. Thanks!

There's a bunch of memes about when he starts talking about not jumping in Mario and just flat out goes "but first, we must talk about parallel universes". It's wild. It's a great video that just...

It's a great video that just honestly goes wayyy too deep.

So i expected this to be brutal, but i'm shocked there's a hardcoded list of inputs(haven't had time to finish the whole thing yet)? I didn't slow down the video on that scan, so maybe i missed...

So i expected this to be brutal, but i'm shocked there's a hardcoded list of inputs(haven't had time to finish the whole thing yet)? I didn't slow down the video on that scan, so maybe i missed it, but sure looks like a huge portion of the start could be at least consolidated into a few functions to save lines/sanity (grass step for example).

Alternatively, they did do that, and it's still that long....which is just insane.

I’m sure they did that programmatically, but just had it output all as one list for fun to get the total amount of steps needed.

It's fascinating to see the work that goes into building a tool assisted speedrun.

This is super fascinating. Watching the series of challenges chain together as it plays out is extremely satisfying. "Doing X presents the problem of Y, which we can fix by doing Z, but then that causes problem A, and we can deal with that by doing B every time we C..." Just some good old-fashioned rational problem solving with a hint of creativity thrown in.

    Thanks for sharing.
