I am always done for more Manderville quests. Often my favorite part of an expansion (I'm still in Shadowbringer).

I have done them yesterday, and wow. Just when you thought it couldn't possibly get any more absurd, they've outdone themselves again. 😂 Hildi's quests are truly the best.

Unfortunately, Shadoowbringers doesn't have a hildibrand questline. However, the Endwalker questline in my opinion more than makes up for it. It's been great so far.

Never wish I was still playing FFXIV more than when I see hilarious gear like this.

Blue mage offering seems a bit sad this expansion. 24 spells, one carnivale stage, no real reward for doing the new content outside of a title. I understand that most of the players don't interact with BLU (and even less do the savage raids) but it'd be nice for those that do.

I'm not sure how it's sad when everything is pretty much on par with what you got in Shadowbringers. Actually, considering 5.45 only added 23 spells, you're an entire spell ahead this time around....

Actually, considering 5.45 only added 23 spells, you're an entire spell ahead this time around. Most of the Blue Mage stuff is achievement/for fun anyway. I don't think it particularly needs better rewards for as niche as it is. I'm just glad they keep updating it since I'm pretty sure they could never touch it again and the community at large wouldn't really care. I doubt most would even notice.

Since Morbol was given as a reward for earning 2 title achievements, separately given by 6 fights, the end-step of 2 raid series' worth of tiers by way of coils and alexander, then as of this Lv 80 BLU update we have 2 more raid series' worth of tier-end fights and 2 more titles because we got access to BLU Omega last expansion and now Eden. At least in terms of formula, the structure looked like it was going to be the same thing: 2 titles feeding into a new mount for obtaining both. That's why people are upset by this update. Doubly so, when people who did not see that the shadowkeeper mount datamine was linked to datamined cash shop music and thought it was going to be a BLU mount, which could've made sense given that 80 BLU was really the only upcoming vector of relevancy for Eden related content again, so people are just shocked and disappointed that there's not a new mount reward for continued BLU raiding.

Sorry to be negative, but being this upset by the lack of one (1) cosmetic reward for this kind of content is a bit sad... You'd think this is the kind of content you do for the sake of gameplay.

Yes. This applies pretty well to the discourse about criterion, too. I prefer a content-first approach to the game where rewards are secondary and somewhat incidental. Yes, getting a cool looking mount is nice, and I am not saying I would want the game to be like an endless sea of untextured grey placeholder models to play game mechanics in, but it is the moment to moment gameplay of clearing raid bosses and stuff that's the actually rewarding, memorable, and fun part, not what my speed-boosting flight-enabling tool looks like.

Unfortunately, even with my approach, it still affects me when the greater playerbase expects a certain reward (blu raid mount 2.0) or reward structure (criterion being involved in gearing in some way) because it affects the overall amount of participants which affects my ability to find groups or fill party finders to actually do the content even if I'm happy to do it for it's own sake. So at the end of the day, I still have to care "how rewarding" something is.

So, fun story. I haven't played FFXIV or really interacted with the community for a couple years due to burning myself out on the game.

Monday night, on a random whim, I decided I'd pop back into the game. Imagine my dismay to realize that this patch was dropping and my download would end 10 mins after all worlds went down.

This is not the first time this has happened to me either. This happened to me with the drop of Patch 4.0 too.

That wouldn't be the first time for me, either. I also remember back when you couldn't trade old Irregular Tomestones after the event ended and the only reason I ended up not swapping them in the morning was because a driver had broken and I needed time to fix my machine. You'd think that'd teach me to not do it last minute but nooooooooo, of course not.

Nowadays it's all easy though since you can just swap them later.

EDIT: Also got my BLU to 80 and geared up and ran the new carnivale stage achievement for the umbrella weapon, just need to pick up a few more spells to be caught up.
