While this game certainly isn't prettier than GoT, it looks great. The benefit of it being a game based in Bakumatsu period (mid 1800s) instead of the more common 1400/1500s that a lot of these samurai/ninja games are based in will be a nice change.

Graphically it is... not impressive. To me it looks like a PS3 upscale port for some reason.

Team Ninja/Koei Tecmo seem to make a lot of games like this that are fine in a lot of regards that stick out very heavily to a lot of people, while others consider them the greatest games ever made. I was excited for this game until I saw that Koei Tecmo logo and felt like "oh, just another game that feels like it's from the 2000s" even though I already knew who was making the game! I think the graphics, character movement, HUD, and camera all feel outdated to me, making it hard to enjoy the games, especially when they are especially difficult, despite how much I love games like Sekiro. I quit playing Nioh at some point not exactly because of the difficulty, but rather because I just got bored and wanted to play other games. It's pretty rare for me to specifically decide I'm bored with a game.

It may be a different story when the game comes out, but I'm with you so far. It looks like a mishmash of mechanics from other games and doesn't seem to have anything terribly unique besides maybe...
