I pretty much 100%'d the last one on PC, really enjoyed it, though the Ubisoft sandbox model is getting a little bit old. I hope I enjoy this one as much!

I'm kindalet down by requirements. My desktop is really old (3rd gen i5 and GTX 1650) but Zero Dawn run just fine at 1080p and quite high graphics settings. The same goes with Steam Deck where Zero Dawn run also fine and with quite high graphics. Now GTX 1650 islisted under lowest and only at 720p 30fps. That basically means that Steam Deck won't be able to run the game at native resolution and at least 30fps (it has lower performance than 1650 and also a bit higher resolution).
I want to buy and play the game but I have to wait for a while to see how it performs on such low hardware. I certainly hope these reqiurements are a bit higher than actually needed just to he on safe side and the gae will actually run juat fine on Stea Deck and also on 1650 (at 1080p). I can fine tune graphics to fir desired 30fps (which is enough for me) but it has to at least run at 30fps on lowest. I hope!

Or wait for next generation of Steam Deck and play one of other games. I havestarted Witcher 3 - that will be around 200 hours with my playstyle (no fast travel, that includes swimming everywhere on Skellige).
Perfect! I started Witcher 3, it will be some time before I finish it, so no need to know real fast... Would you be so kind to try it in native resolution targeting 30fps with graphics somewhat...

Would you be so kind to try it in native resolution targeting 30fps with graphics somewhat higher than lowest (if possible) for me? If you could write me what projected battery life is, it would be awesome! I used to play HZD before going to sleep and it went for around 2.5-3 hours which also reminded me to actually go to sleep :-)
I've played the first half hour or so of the game now. I've settled on medium settings with motion blur turned off, and I'm getting around 30-35fps. The intro cinematic was running at 60fps...

The intro cinematic was running at 60fps without changing anything and I got really excited, but that turned out to be a prerendered video.

Have you changed the game verson in the properties in Steam client? If you go there and select 1.32 in "beta" oprions, you will get pre-next-gen version of the game. It runs at high details and on low power budget. I'm getting 30fps (locked) and 2:30 hours battery life. When I tried next-gen update, I had to go down with details and even then it needed to much power to run at 30...
I'm running whatever version you get by default when you go to steam and say "hi give me game please". It looks fine to me. I'm not too picky about this sort of thing.

Then you are getting next-gen, which is much more power hungry. I switched to classic version because I think you don't need graphic fidelity that next-gen update brought. And Steam Deck isn't super powerful, so I traded (theoretical) graphics fidelity of next-gen for smoothness and battery life of classic :-) Savegames are not backwards compatible though, you would have to start over if you did that. I still recommend it - classic version looks awesome on Steam Deck (it looks awesome on big screen too, IMO) and having much better smoothness and much better battery life is great for me.
Oh man, I'm sorry! I have recently wrote about Witcher 3 and I thought you were reffering to that, I have totally missed you are writing in another thread about whole another game! I'm really...

Thank you for your info on Horizon Forbidden West! In that case, this looks awesome! I will definitely buy and play it on Steam Deck!
EDIT: Sorry for calling you out @em-dash. In my "quick, remedy this embarrasing thing" action I totally missed on one thing. Would you know how long it will last on battery? Do you run on full power (no TDP limit)? Thank you for your time and once again sorry for previous comments.
Hah, this makes much more sense. I was curious why there was an incompatible "next-gen" branch this soon after release. The Deck estimates 1h50m of battery time, starting from 94% with no TDP limit.

Very exciting. I really enjoyed the last one, very happy to have this one out for PC well!
Excellent, looks like I'm gonna have a good time running this one. I'm pretty excited!
They gonna let me rebind C this time?
You can, but it breaks the typing minigame.

I'm guessing it's because the DLC which is included in this edition is PS5 exclusive, so it needs the higher specs.

I'm planning to play it on the Steam Deck. I'll try to remember to come back here and let you know how it goes.
Thank you! Are you going to buy it right away when it comes out? I will certainly remember so I can ping you in the middle of April...?
Probably, or at least within a week or so. Depends on how busy I happen to be around that time.
