Well this is exciting! I feel like I'm being catered to (yes, I played the original when I was but a youngster), but hey - they're releasing a DRM-free Linux edition. That's definitely worth...

Self distribution is an interesting choice, especially since it's only Epic exclusive in that it's not on another store.

On launch day, World of Goo 2 will be available for Nintendo Switch, Win, Mac, and Linux.

Nintendo Switch - on the eShop
Epic Games Store - for Win / Mac
    WorldOfGoo2.com - right here, for Win / Mac / Linux, DRM-free

Self distribution is an interesting choice, especially since it's only Epic exclusive in that it's not on another store.

If you're releasing DRM-free anyhow it's a no-brainer to also offer direct to avoid the storefront cut for those so inclined.

Obviously, but I'm more interested that Epic went along with allowing them to direct distribute as long as it wasn't on Steam.

Source. It makes sense, they're trying to edge Steam out of the market. They couldn't care less about non-Steam storefronts or sales.

Products in the Epic First Run program can also be released simultaneously on publishers’ and developers’ own stores or launchers with direct sales

          Source.
