Looking back at A Way Out, the first of the three, you can see it's a proof of concept more than anything. It was a bit shaky and incomplete but still enjoyable. It Takes Two expanded significantly on the formula and made the cooperation longer, more impactful, and fun.
It Takes Two was such a massive success I'm sure the budget allows for a much more daring approach in the next game. Here's to hoping Split Fiction will deliver!

Hopefully with this game they had the time and money to give the game some good pacing because It Takes Two was a bit rushed towards the end.

It helped that the rest of the game had some serious high points throughout that it didn't matter much, but it did suck.
Neither the first nor the second game landed the story particularly well and I'm hoping this funding injection will prevent that, though I'm not hopeful. But that's not what I play these games for, the lovably annoying love book was the only character that made a meaningful impact, and the rest relies on the gameplay.
The book was so deliberately obnoxious that I was sure it was going to be the final boss. I was pretty disappointed I didn't get to kick its ass. The rest of the game was on point, though. It was...

They were teeing him up to be if you ask me. Collaboratioooon, to kick love's ass. But that never happened and I'm halfway convinced they just didn't get to it.
