really, really would prefer keyboard keys for the flippers, right-click initiates mousegestures and then i end up refreshing the game and resetting every time i want to press right flipper

Cool project though, I used to play a game JUST like this all the time when I was a kid. I think it may have been this game, I don’t remember the name of it and the scoreboard panel UI doesn’t feel right, but the table itself is eerily familiar. It’s like a half-forgotten memory clawing its way back into my brain.
This table and several others were in Full Tilt! Pinball ('95) for Windows and MacOS. This board was ported as a limited version to several editions of Windows up to XP under the title 3D Pinball...

There's an android version linked on that page, but also you can run this game natively on Windows and if you do this, you can actually set your own controls like arrow keys controlling flippers...

You can download the windows version and put those files into the folder for the Space Cadet game in the first link I provided. Then launch the Space Cadet exe from the github release.

You can just download the game rather than the ISO.
This contains the game files, but I couldn't manage to get it to launch at all even with compatibility mode.
However, the basis for the link here and the android game was someone who did the work to reverse engineer the game, and that is here.

Dang, that brought back some memories.
There is hope left in this world, it works well enough on the android version.
Sadly it doesn’t work on iOS at all because the space bar just scrolls the page instead of launching the ball.
