I posted T1s victory last year - thought I would post it this year. This is the first and likely last three-peat in League of Legends history, with T1 (previously named as SKT) faced KT Rolster for the League of Legends World Finals. These two organizations have a long history with each other predating LoL, dating back to their StarCraft days.
As for Faker, this is his 6th World Title, making 4 World Finals in a row with the same roster, winning 3 of them.
While they haven't seen much first place standings domestically (but almost always making second or third in every other event, other than Worlds), I would personally say this is the most dominant a team has been in the modern era of League of Legends, and it is not particularly close.
That is correct! I should have said 'core roster', because the top laners have been the most interchangeable. Extremely happy for Doran, and he has always gotten way more hate than he deserved.

I definitely thought the T1 vs AL quarterfinal felt like the "real" final. I root for T1 -- because my brother does -- and that series had me standing up, hands behind my head, eyes glued to the TV.
This final series vs KT wasn't nearly as exciting, but I'd be lying if I wasn't a little nervous after game 3, as KT was close to match point. But Faker and the gang naturally turned it around. I was joking with my brother that T1 just needs to be the underdogs so they can get play clutch.
Which is hilarious, that the defending world champs and now six times world champions, with the greatest League player ever, maybe greatest eSports player ever, would be considered underdogs at any time, at all. But it definitely felt that way in Worlds, outside of their series with TES. I saw this quote on reddit, which was translated from Chinese social media:
T1's condition isn't good, T1's early game was poor, T1 made a series of blunders, T1 has fallen into a desperate state, T1 are in their death throes, T1 is giving their victory speech

I definitely agree that the quarter final games were all bangers, T1 vs AL and GenG vs HLE were both World Finals tier series. I would say that this KT vs T1 series is probably the least exciting finals in recent memory, except for the 2023 T1 vs Weibo Gaming world finals, I think everyone would agree that the JDG vs T1 semi-finals for that year was the 'real finals'.

Many people speculate that Faker and friends sort of sandbag throughout most of the year due to his wrist problems and the fact his schedule is so heavy from sponsor commitments, ads, talk shows, interviews, etc. and that Worlds is the time he is the least busy, so he can focus on the game better.
Not sure how true it is, but it can make sense to a certain degree considering they've only won one LCK title together.
I've been a KT fan since before KT Rolster Arrows won OGN in 2014, so this defeat hurt a bit, but great series. I say "a bit" because I've been pretty out of LoL esports since 2022 but I couldn't...

Not sure I'd agree this was the greatest Telecom War in history but definitely entertaining!
It definitely wasn't the best telecom series, and personally I think the previous 3 finals were probably more exciting as well (though not by much) but I'm so glad that Bdd at least made World...

I get that I'm late to watching it but is there any edit the title could have to not spoil the results since it did for me.
