First saw Any Austin's videos here and I think he's my favorite video game Youtuber/essayist out there. Splits the line between the absurdity of people like the McElroy Brothers or Brian David Gilbert and the more serious like Super Bunny Hop or Jacob Geller. To me, this is probably one of his best videos.

Bonus clip is this hour long interview he did with economist Tyler Cowen.

If you like Any Austin, you may also like Memoria, who he actually has a podcast with too: gl;hf podcast. She has a totally different focus, mostly on Let's Plays of retro/silly/crappy/bargain-bin games, but a similarly super-chill vibe and similarly dry sense of humor as him. IMO, she's actually way funnier than him though, TBH.

I think the thing that makes Any Austin unique is the degree to which you actually learn things through his exploration of a video game. Where does a stream go in Cyberpunk 2077? Suddenly, hydrologic system explanation! Where do the electric lines run in Red Dead Redemption 2? Electric grid, telegraph, and infrastructure development. He has a way of looking at these video game spaces as real shared experiences, and helping people see the real world a little more clearly because of it.

Cool coincidence. I only started playing cyberpunk for the first time 1-2 weeks ago, and I've been aiming for the DLC ending, where you-know-what happens. So this is pretty relevant to my playthrough, and it's nice to see it at this particular moment.

I didn't have any familiarity with cyberpunk lore etc. in the slightest before this, but I've been pretty immersed in the whole thing. I built a large headcanon for my character, modelled after my own story, and she even looks like a more beautiful me in a way. But apparently you're not supposed to do that, because you're instead playing a predefined character with a very specific and mostly-linear story (past, present, and future), for the most part. So it does get kind of annoying when the game forces me to do things I don't actually want to do (especially to myself) because they contradict my own headcanon and personality/needs.

Whole thing is why I decided to go for the DLC ending to begin with. Feels closest to what I'd want as V.
