I played it back then but failed to complete it for some reason. I do remember liking the art and music.

Anyone want to chime in about their thoughts on the original game and whether they are following the remake? Assuming the story is the same as the original, is it worth giving it a shot and playing through to the end? Will adults enjoy the story too?

I think the biggest problem with any remake will be the lack of two screens. While there could be some more polish, the battling on both screens simultaneously is a core feature, and one that can really only work on a DS. I wish they had remade it for the 3DS (this would have to have been years ago, as the 3DS is now approaching it’s end of life).

With that said, my biggest complaint about the game is that there are a few too many mechanics, to the point where it feels like they just threw stuff in for no reason.

Other than that, I like the story, characters and music, and the gameplay makes it one of the most unique RPG’s I’ve played.

I’m sure they’ll do a good job with the remake, but I think the biggest loss will be the two screen battles.

Since they ported the game to mobile, many people have played the game without two screens. They adjusted the battle system to compensate for it, this will probably be another revision of it.
