Casual gaming group?
TRS80 gaming is a group for casuals. Back in the day I could play TF2, CSGO and PlanetSide 2 for 4-6 hrs a night (yes I've done the all-nighters, and done an all-nighter with Civilization too). But as I've grown older, I've been more busy with work.
So I, with some friends, wanted to create a gaming group that's basically for casuals.
The games we play are:
- Destiny 2 (we have a clan)
- Guild Wars 2 (we have a guild)
- WarFrame (no guild yet)
Mobile games we're playing:
- Idle Heroes (we have a guild)
- Brawl Stars (no guild right now)
- Clash Royale (no guild right now)
Some of us stream on Twitch (twitch.tv/condenasty80) and I can auto-host channels.
It'd be cool to get other casual players on Tildes on the Discord chat to coordinate some games for Destiny 2, Guild Wars and Warframe (and to group up on mobile games too!)
Reply if you're interested!
edit: forgot to mention, we have a blog, twitter and facebook page so if you want to write a game review or just make comment about recent game news, I'm open to scheduling/publishing posts
I bought a PC about a week back and have been looking at GW2 because an old friend keeps telling me to get into it. Once I purchase the game I'll be up for this for sure! Timezones won't be an issue, will they?
EST to PST are easy to accommodate; we actually want people around the world so there's always someone online to play.
Which video games are you playing right now?
I really need to stop typing half the the comment, deleting it, then rewording without adding back most of the damn things I said.
I'm down in Australia, so I can help tick off the world part :)
I bought WoW because I had a nostalgia kick after seeing a ton of hype for the next expansion, it's been so very long since I've played so much has changed. It's amazing. I also purchased fallout 4 as I loved fallout 3 and New Vegas, I haven't logged much time on that yet but that will change soon.
My mate is pushing me to try Rainbow siege and PubG. I've never played a FPS on a PC before, it will be fun learning how to not suck out loud
Cool! I'll PM you a discord invite.
fallout is solid, siege is pretty decent. Honestly I recommend CSGO to everyone because it's way more approachable than Siege and PUBG. Siege has a steep learning curve (classes + equipment + the strats for maps? I bought the game and just defaulted to the terrorist hunt mode because that was easiest).
WoW is looking like lots of fun, it's always nice to get into a game that has history.
bum. I wish I checked this before jumping off the PC. I'll join the discord server late tonight :)
I'll have to give CSGO a shot, I'm open to having a go a many different games
I'd be interested in a Clash Royale clan! I stopped playing earlier this summer because I couldn't find a clan that could get 10 people together for the new Clan Wars mechanic :(.
Sweet, I can spin up a new one!
Let me know what it's called, I'll join right up!
Just created it (for the 2nd time lol), the name is TRS80 (tag is
#P2JGL0YR
), here's an invite link: https://link.clashroyale.com/invite/clan/en?tag=P2JGL0YR&token=wx8azjcp&platform=androidDang I've always been looking for this for Destiny 2, but I play on Xbox. The part about writing game reviews for your blog sounds really neat though. More like op-eds of that's something you would be interested in. Let me know!
I thought cross-play was finally available? :S
Absolutely! I'll PM with you a discord invite and we can discuss it!
As far as I know cross play hasn't been implemented and will not be implemented for a while due to the deals that Bungie has with Sony.
What server and outfit did you play on in PlanetSide? That was my shit back in the day.
can't remember if I ever joined an outfit but I remember running around with 47 other fools with jet packs ;p
I think this was my character (the username's retired now): https://ps2.fisu.pw/player/?name=omouse
Damn I loved that game. It's a bit dead now but still fun to play casually.
Yeah I downloaded it on PS4 and it was a bit of fun but way more fun on PC somehow. They had a decent micro-transactions and skills/classes/equipment set, wish they had done more to include a wider story or promote the game more. It could be a contender like WoW for a great 5+ year MMO.
The issue was the studio was in constant flux soe went out of business and sold them and then the company that bought them doesn't want to invest in the game, they just want to milk it dry.
I'd love to give it a try! Unfortunately, I don't play a lot of those games. Are there people who would be willing to play some other, but similar games?
Cool! Which games are you playing?
I've been playing a lot of Starbound lately. I've always wanted to find a good group to play that. If anyone has Crusader Kings 2, it can be pretty fun in multiplayer. Also for anyone who likes war sims, I play a decent amount of Day of Infamy and Foxhole.
Warframe guilds are sort of expensive, in terms of catching up with research.
there's research? I need to catch up on Warframe at some point, still deep into Destiny 2 though; there's someone in chat who's big into Warframe, let me know if you want to hang out on TRS80 discord chat.
Depends on if anyone plays it; I'd love to check it out but I'm on Linux and it looks like it's Windows and Mac OS X only?
