Two things: you should probably explain just what the game is about, or at least give a blurb about the setting, as "web-based old-school style game" tells me nothing - and so did the linked page...

Good points, I wasn't sure exactly how to describe it; it's like...trade wars? in a browser? I'm not sure still how to describe it! And yeah, I'm so glad I have the duckduckgo extension installed...

Thanks, I added that now. Browsers seem to be finally starting to behave like that by default too, so hopefully we won't have to keep remembering to add that everywhere all the time for too much...
@Deimos I think Tildes needs rel=noopener for external links

That's good but it wouldn't have worked with Tildes because it's not using target=_blank. At least it's better than nothing. Meanwhile we can use the extension @cfabbro recommended in the Firefox...

Edit: I just saw that the commit is using target=_blank, but Tildes is still not using rel=noopener for people like me who have the option to open links in new tabs disabled. The issue persists if you middle click the link.
Every reference I can find says that you only need to add it along with target="_blank". Opening a new tab manually by middle-clicking, ctrl-clicking, etc. shouldn't trigger it, I don't think....

Even the extension that you mentioned says this (emphasis mine):
Searches for any hyperlink that points to a page that is not hosted on the same domain as the viewed page and checks if it has the target="_blank" attribute.
It didn't change anything and now the link in this post doesn't log me out. I don't know what caused me to be logged out of Tildes the first time I tried OP's link, but it's definitely not Tildes'...

Your title said old school, and the site mentioned text based. I signed up for it thinking it was a MUD and was a little disappointed to see it's not the kind of Text game I thought it was.

That's what I thought it would be as I played it a bit more, maybe some text-based on role-playing in the forums but that looks kinda lacking too. It looks like a text-based clicker essentially...

It looks like a text-based clicker essentially rather than as a mobile game...was a recommendation from a friend and I am definitely going to have words with this "friend" -_-'

Ugh, that's pretty shitty :/

Trying middle-click, etc. on the link here all results in it saying that it failed ("The previous tab is safe and intact") for me: https://tildes.net/~test/920/testing_rel_noopener
If you middle-click that link (the one in the linked topic, not the link to the topic), does it change the Tildes tab? If so, which browser/version?

Haha it's all good, it's just one more domain to add to my spam blacklist. No harm done.
