Lots of new modes and toys to play around with, multiplayer looks fun, not sure if everyone having their own switch is feasible, but Nintendo going to Nintendo. As far as passing around your levels outside of the Nintendo ecosystem, I guess either the bookmark system is coming back or there is something else planned.

Somehow the Switch is the gaming platform I have the most fun on, currently, which makes it odd how infrequently they release games on it that truly get me excited. Super Mario Maker 2 is one of them.
Also interesting in this Direct: They announced "game vouchers" for Online members. You can only purchase them as a pairs for $100, then spend them on digital versions of Nintendo-published online releases, which usually are $59.99. So you're essentially saving $20. It's the stingiest of deals but it's basically giving you online membership for free if you promise to buy 2 new games a year.

The vouchers are probably intended for new games that aren't otherwise on sale, and are probably going to be a big gift around Christmas.

Guess not, but it would be weird if that wasn't an option later.
