I haven't played it much, but I've given a few of the different activities a shot.
The last time I played, me and a friend decided to try out that "Isle of Lost Skulls" quest (we had never done any of the quests before). A random third guy joined up with us that had never done it before either, and the three of us spent over two hours repeatedly failing at it but slowly making progress (and having a lot of fun). I had no idea the game was going to be so difficult—it kind of looks like a kids' game but that quest was really hard.
Anyway, after our hours of failure, we finally gave up, even though we figured that we must have been close to finishing it. Later that night, I looked it up and found that we hadn't even gotten past the end of "Act 2"... out of 8.
I haven't tried it again since, but I'm still surprised at how hard that thing was.
The quests are pretty hard, but I recommend starting with Golden Trophy if you want to get into questing (also Skulls is the hardest XD). But now that they upgraded custom rooms a TON, player made...

Overall a nice crowd of people, little to no trolling, and a simple yet entertaining set of minigames. You probably won't play it forever but it's fun while you do.
Rec room is great, especially considering it's free. Lots of fun casual games to play with friends, and playing with random people is usually fun too. I haven't played in a long time so I'm sure...

Is Rec Room any good? I have a Vive but haven't really tried any of the various purely social/hangout games yet. My friends and I usually play the various "sports" games together (cloudlands mini golf, sports bar vr, etc) and occasionally hang out and watch movies, stand-up comedy and tv shows in BigScreen Beta.
