It probably varies wildly company to company but for me it was just a few calls a week. Usually late at night. Usually something that is relatively simple or that could safely wait until the next day. On occasion there would be a major incident and in that case there is not much you can usually do besides escalate it to someone. Make sure you write down as much information as you can about the event. Start making phone calls and give all that info to the necessary people. I wouldn't say that being on-call is very high pressure. A lot of times you are there to act as a facilitator. Someone to get the right people the right information. I wouldn't stress over it too much. I'm sure you will do fine.

Eventually we will see monitorless desks with a wearable display that will need some sort of new UI to drive it. I don't think standard monitor based desktop design will change much until then.

I was really surprised at the quality of a show coming out of syfy channel and even more surprised when I learned it was being canceled. Syfy can't have too many things going for it right now. I wonder why they would give up their flagship show.

Hop in with your friends and play some paintball or try one of the quests. It's some of the best coop VR gaming you can play and its free!
I do this but I basically have specific TV shows and Movies that I have deemed it acceptable to watch on the second screen and not pay complete attention to. Usually they are shows that I know are pretty bad but still want to watch or things that I know I can follow with minimal effort because the plot is so dead simple or predictable. Guilty pleasures like The Arrow or something like that. If I want to watch The Expanse though, that's a single screen experience. Often I will be like "I really want to watch this show but I know I can't devote full attention to it right now so it's going to wait." Seems to work for me.
