This has been a real saga over the last few weeks. I've been following it on and off, but there's so much to it that it's difficult for me to even think about where to start explaining it. So I'm really glad that GamesIndustry got involved, did research, independently verified a lot of the information, and published this article. It's been mostly ignored by other gaming outlets, and this seems to be the most comprehensive coverage.

If you're interested in the situation and want to dive into the rabbit-hole, be prepared for it to take quite a few hours to get through everything. There are multiple extremely long posts that are on Wordpress.com now, after Dangen got them taken down from Medium. There are a ton of massive Twitter threads and arguments, split across English and Japanese. There's a bunch of information scattered around about developers not getting paid, and effectively losing control of their own games. It's a gigantic mess.

GamesIndustry contacted the Devil Engine developer for comment, and he doesn't seem optimistic still, and isn't even confident that the sales numbers they're giving him are true.
