I played both and, imo, Watch Dogs 2 was wayyyyyy better than Watch Dogs 1. The online multiplayer was especially fun (namely the hide & seek, drop-in, drop-out stuff), and the game mechanics were just fresh enough in their combination with 3D puzzles.
...also it was easy.
Easy and fun is a good combo to get me to play through any game. I hated the characters/story, but several hours in I didn't care anymore and just started rolling with it.
It was supposed to be given to people watching Ubisoft Forward, but their site wouldn't let people log-in, so now anyone can get it for Uplay.

Anecdata, I know, but I don't know a single person who managed to sign in during Forward. Seems more than just "some"
