Tetris Effect: Connected is a great surprise, here's the official blog post on their site with more info about what it includes and how it's different from the original game: Xbox Players to Get Connected via the Ultimate Incarnation of Tetris Effect

Bizarre situation overall though: the original game was a timed PS4 exclusive, and then a timed Epic Games Store exclusive, and now this "enhanced" version is basically going to be a timed exclusive for the other platforms (and then a free update for the original version).

I bought the PC version through the Epic Store, but it sounds like this should be on Xbox Game Pass, so hopefully I'll be able to play it on release through there.

And thanks for putting this post together, I appreciate it!

That being said, I'm still never going to buy a Dragon Quest game until they hire a new composer because I think Koichi Sugiyama is a terrible person and don't want any portion of my money go to his coffer.

I'm really excited for Avowed, but you wouldn't know why it's exciting unless you played and paid attention to the lore of Pillars of Eternity, and read the trailer's description on YouTube, emphasis mine:

Watch the official announce trailer for Avowed, Obsidian Entertainment’s next epic, first-person RPG set in the fantasy world of Eora.

This is something I've been talking about wanting since 2018.

I thought the openish world Halo game looked alright, but didn't really blow me away. It looked pretty much like any other FPS shooter from the current generation. From the XBox perspective, I am not sure if what they showed so far of this game is enough to make it the system seller that it really needs to be.

I am slightly hopeful for Psychonauts 2 and glad that they showed a bit of gameplay. The sound and art style looks fun and a significant improvement over the original (though not saying much since it was 15 years ago). The last major game from Double Fine I played was Broken Age and I lost interest playing it after just an hour or so. Hopefully, they can pull this one out.

The only game that I am excited for from these is the new fantasy game Avowed by Obsidian. I'm glad that were getting another crack at a game in the same genre as Skyrim. I just hope that this one plays up more of the RPG elements rather than the Elder Scrolls increasing focus on streamlining everything as much as possible.

When I had to choose between buying a PS4 or an XBOX ONE, Microsoft swayed me with promises of a Fable game, this feels awfully familiar...
