The last Paradox-published game that got canned that I can recall was East vs West which was a first-time game being made by some Hearts of Iron modders. While that project getting cancelled for delays and mismanagement isn't really shocking the decision to boot a seemingly established development company off a project is pretty eyebrow raising especially when the game was slated to come out last year.

Even the TT side of it isn't good. Onyx Path is running with the WOD20 stuff just fine, but V5 continues to be a mess. The new Werewolf game was supposed to bring with it a new TT version. Who knows where that is.
At this point, I can't tell why Paradox bought the properties, same as I couldn't tell why CCP did it either.
Developer Hardsuit Labs has also been pulled off of this game, and Paradox is no longer taking pre-orders. Looks pretty grim.
