Not trying to be rude or anything, but this looks so much better than current PoE. The graphics are a huge step up, and some of the abilities have so much depth. Like the spear class and their sandstorm ability that builds up every time you use it and it explodes when you blink away. So much synergy in PoE2 abilities. I’m way more excited for this than diablo 4 and I’ve probably beaten diablo 3 and it’s xpac 3 times on 3 different platforms.
Oh don't get me wrong, this does look really good. The way the spear is shown is super cool. Just the mountain of grind and the massive skill trees in PoE is very intimidating. I just wish this...

I just wish this was a true second game, and didn't carry all of the problems of the current game with it.
There’s a brand new gem system, 7 act campaign, new classes, new weapon types, new animation system and graphics updates. I guess I’m not sure how this isn’t a true second game. It uses the same...

It was being developed as a separate thing but they changed their minds. Time will tell if that was a good decision. AFAIK the games are very much integrated, this is not just a matter of using...

I’m inclined to believe the actual developers that have built a proper and positive reputation than a terrible opinion piece by a “games journalist”.

That's why calling it PoE 2 is misleading, but understandable from a marketing perspective. Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 are completely separate games. PoE 1 and PoE 2 are not.
So in order for you to call it a true sequel it would have to have its own client? Even if it had the same leagues, same micro transactions (even if they carried over) and same type of endgame, as...
So in order for you to call it a true sequel it would have to have its own client? Even if it had the same leagues, same micro transactions (even if they carried over) and same type of endgame, as long as it has it’s own client then it’s a true sequel? I guess I just don’t agree with that assessment. To me it’s a completely different game using the same client as the first game.
No. Even using the same client would be fine, as I expect Diablo 4 to launch from the same client (battle.net) as Diablo 3. For it to be a different game, I would expect little to nothing to carry...

You don’t seem to understand what I mean by client, I’m not talking about launchers. I’m going to stop right here though, you’re clearly set in stone as to what you think PoE2 is despite what the devs who actually make the game say. To me at this point PoE2 looks like a much better game than d4, but neither are out so neither of us knows exactly what is happening with either game.
I don't play Diablo 3 (or really plan to play 4, unless it blows everything out of the water somehow). I have played PoE in the past. I hope PoE 2 ends up as good as they have shown off in the...

The skill trees doesn't bother me, but gem management is currently frustrating and excessively complex. I'm looking forward to the new system. Some graphic performance optimizations would be nice...

Some graphic performance optimizations would be nice but I don't expect that to happen.
Gameplay overview was released too:

While there are many overhauls and a new campaign, it's not a separate game.

The subreddit seems to get the difference.

Edit: also network optimization...
