@deimos The last 3 threads were at zero comments. I think it is time to retire this megathread - covid-related news can be posted individually.

It might even be time to finally retire the ~health.coronavirus group, which doesn't have much content posted to it anymore other than the megathreads, and just rely on 'coronaviruses.covid19'...

Well, I definitely jinxed it. My husband tested positive today. We’re quarantining from one another, but it’s likely I have it too. We scheduled PCRs for tomorrow.

          I'm in COVID limbo?

My husband definitely has it. He had a faint sample line on Friday's test, while today's was an immediate dark bold line. He's been cooped up in a separate room all weekend, coughing and fatigued, but not too terribly bad.

Meanwhile, I have done three rapid tests since Friday. Each one has been negative when read as intended (after 15 minutes). However, after they've sat out for several hours, a very faint sample line has appeared on each.

This is technically against the rules of the test (they're not supposed to be read after 30 minutes), but also no rapid test I've ever taken has given me a sample line even after a full day or two of sitting on my counter. Also, false positives are super rare, so the idea that I could get three in a row is statistically laughable.

I'm thinking this means that I definitely do have it, but I just have had a very low viral load so far? Maybe I'm still in the incubation phase? I don't have any symptoms at present.

We did get PCR tests yesterday that we're waiting on the results for and which I'm hoping come in today. I'm pretty sure I do have it, I'd just like to have official confirmation so that taking off work is easier.

UPDATE: I got impatient and ran another rapid test. This one gave me a faint line almost immediately. It’s official.

That’s very kind of you. Thanks for your positive vibes, Algernon!

The bulk of it hit me overnight, and today has been straight up awful. I’m currently in bed under six blankets with chills. My whole body, including my skin, aches. My cough sounds horrible. Doing anything, even sitting up to drink water, feels like it requires Huerculean strength, or an amount of energy that my body batteries don’t and can’t have right now.

I thought I’d be able to at least relax and watch movies or TV, but my eyes just want to be closed. My ears also want silence instead of music. I’m lying here in the dark, occasionally checking my phone, immediately remembering that I have a headache, and then putting it back down. Rinse and repeat.

My husband seemed to be through the worst of it yesterday, and he’s able to get up and do things today, so I’m hoping mine follows the same path and I’m through it by Wednesday or so.

If anyone from other topics is waiting on responses from my comments there and sees this in my profile, know that it’s going to be a couple of days before I can respond adequately.

I’m happy to report that I’m doing much better and through the worst of it. Not fully better yet, but I can actually get up and walk around again, which is huge.
