Hi fitness pals! Been a minute, and it's been bad on my part lol. The hour change just... Fucked with me so much. I got used to running in the afternoon and now I don't want to run in the mornings since I don't like how rushed it feels for me. I've been putting off getting warmer clothing to run with because I have a hard time justifying it? Idk I'm just in a weird mindspace but I managed a run last week and did some good, heavy lifting this week and I'm trying to get back into it. I want to run a 5k on new years morning so I need to make sure I'm ready for that.

Idk, I felt like I had such a strong start going into the fall and I don't know if it's SAD or what but I'm just poorly motivated and feel bad haha. But I'm on the up swing and working on it!

Thank you!! I really appreciate that. I try not to be too hard on myself, but it's a bad habit that's in the works of being broken. And I think I will keep my goals to something more manageable...

Thank you!! I really appreciate that. I try not to be too hard on myself, but it's a bad habit that's in the works of being broken. And I think I will keep my goals to something more manageable for me, thank you. I was kicking myself for not running and lifting as much as I did in the summer, but that's unfair to me. Again, thank you for the words of wisdom (❁´◡`❁)

Well I got sick and now have bronchitis so I haven't run in two weeks, which is not great given that I'm training for an ultramarathon. I'm going to try jogging really slowly today too see how close I feel to dying. Hopefully I'll be able to pick up the pace/distance in the coming weeks.

Edit: never mind, it was going to be a group run but it's raining too hard. Maybe I'll "run" on my own.

Phew, November was a challenge, was traveling or sick 3/4 of the month. Was proud to get training done during my last week of travel though I was load limited by equipment. But got the reps in which is what counts. No more travel for the foreseeable future so excited to get back into a rhythm.

Transitioned from 4x full body split to 6x upper lower split. I really like it as I'm mentally drained after a day of work and struggle to keep up the focus through two compound movements. The 6x split means I still go into the gym 3-4 days a week but do the other 2-3 days at home. Workouts are much shorter and I don't need to hold energy in reserve for another lift. Currently it looks like Squat 1, Bench 1, DL 1, Bench 2, Squat 2 and DL 2, Bench 3 and Bench 4.

Starting to see progress again, current goals:

    • Bench 302/137.5x3 at RPE 7
    • Squat 418/190x3 at RPE 7. Was here end of October but the chaos of November knocked me back 5kg.
    • DL 440/200x3 at RPE7. Got 195 the week I was sick, hope to repeat at a lower RPE today and depending on how it goes go for this next week.

I like the running piece and want to keep it, but I need to find the balance. My lifting program would have 1.5 hour nights, and I'm finding I really want to pare that down to maybe just 2 main lifts @ 1 hour total.
