Fitness Weekly Discussion
What have you been doing lately for your own fitness? Try out any new programs or exercises? Have any questions for others about your training? Want to vent about poor behavior in the gym? Started a new diet or have a new recipe you want to share? Anything else health and wellness related?
I touched my elbows behind my back for the first time.
I also finally managed to get into a deep squat with my feet flat without assistance for the first time probably since my childhood. But my ankles are still so tight that just holding it is basically a tib shredder haha.
I’ve also discovered a pretty nice variant on the standing bodyweight row, like the ones you do in a door frame. Instead of leaning backwards, try leaning forward so that your arms are swept behind you. it actually stretches your biceps in a unique way because part of your biceps actually attaches to the front of your shoulder. I did a few reps throughout the day here and there, and later I was sore in parts of my biceps I didn’t even know existed.
whenever I have a weird exercise idea, I’m always interested to see if anybody else has thought of the same thing as me. in the case of these weird rows, I can’t find many examples of people doing them. But I did discover through this the hefesto from gymnastics, and I really think this would be a pretty solid exercise progression for anybody interested in achieving something like that one day.
