Fitness Weekly Discussion
What have you been doing lately for your own fitness? Try out any new programs or exercises? Have any questions for others about your training? Want to vent about poor behavior in the gym? Started a new diet or have a new recipe you want to share? Anything else health and wellness related?
I've taken up running again. I've done it on and off since high school. I started again in September as a way to burn off grief and keep my mind focused and it really helped, before that it had been a couple years.
I was pleasantly surprised I could do 30 minutes straight without needing weeks to build up to it. Definitely takes some effort and I'm slow as molasses, but I guess muscle memory is no joke.
My goal weight when i started at 250lbs in October last year was 186lbs. I weighed in at 192.2 today and im pretty excited to be this close. And yet it feels like i should just try to keep going? Like, according to bmi id be in the middle of the healthy range at 160. Im now curious to see what lies at the top of that mountain? Im my mind, if we only get one life, why dont i just yolo this whole thing and see how far i can push myself? Put myself into that kind of shape one time in my life. Its going to be a ton of work though. Considering training for a half iron man. Is that nuts or obsessive?
Wait, I've been able to do this my whole life and I remember in the 2008 Olympics when the announcers called Michael Phelps a freak for being able to do this. I thought it was a skeletal thing more than a flexibility thing? You mean like you made your left elbow touch your right elbow behind your back, right?
