Fitness Weekly Discussion
What have you been doing lately for your own fitness? Try out any new programs or exercises? Have any questions for others about your training? Want to vent about poor behavior in the gym? Started a new diet or have a new recipe you want to share? Anything else health and wellness related?
Trying desperately to stop drinking. I was going good for about 6 months then boom the holidays. Gained some weight, stopped riding my bike. Its been a struggle for a while for me.
Same here. Now when i (binge) drink my energy goes down the drain for days.
If i knew it was going to be like this i would have made other friends and not started drinking when i was a teen. Fitting in was overrated and now i'm paying the price.
I'm currently testing a few gyms in my area. Since I started working mostly remotely (and the local office doesn't have a gym), I've been severely lacking in gym access and haven't really lifted weights (my preferred gym exercise) beyond a few kettlebells at home for about a year. I went to a gym called FitnessSF in my neighborhood that has plenty of free weights and some nice perks like towels and showers if needed, but it's a bit pricey at $90/mo. Will be checking out 24 Hour Fitness as another option tomorrow, which would run about $37-$45/mo depending on whether I commit to 12 months. It's probably not as nice, nor does it have the extra perks, but is that work another $540 annually to me? The FitnessSF is about 5 minutes away by bike with the 24 Hour Fitness about 15 minutes away by bike, so I have some calculating to do...
I finally hung some rings from a joist in my ceiling; it wasn't as difficult as I expected, and it feels more secure than I expected.
I've been doing push-ups 3 times a week for a while now, and I think it will be easy to add some pull-ups to the routine.
