My covid-19 antibody test came back negative, so I guess I just had a weird flu back a few months ago. So, I'm still staying out the gym. Still doing suspension training. But man, calisthenics just doesn't cut it. I want to get back to lifting heavy things and it's looking like until a vaccine comes out, I won't be able to.

Keep at it dawg! Maybe include some ankle weights/weight vest? I'm no fitness guru (far from it). Just throwing ideas here.

Yeah, I am thinking I will add my weighted vest to the whole thing soon to start progressive overload. It's better than nothing. Thanks for the encouragement though, tough not having your gym...

My FitBit (Versa SE) broke for good this past week. I'd had it for ~2 years and... seeing my Timex Weekender still alive and ticking makes me just want to be done with wearable tech. It was nice seeing my sleeping habits (and how I'm consistently an hour short of where I'd like to be) and my heart rate, but... over time I stopped caring and the nicest thing was just having my phone alerts buzz my wrist-- I wouldn't even check my wrist to see what the alert was, I'd go right to my phone, I just liked having the extra buzz 'cause I'd often not feel the one on my phone.

Anyways, I've been doing a MWF routine for a while now-- 10 minutes VR cardio followed by 3-4 strength exercises-- and am at a comfortable enough weight (10 pounds left to lose, it's taking forever!) that I don't really think I need the nudge anymore. Not like there's anything else to do with the extra time before work being quarantined and all.

...I know I just said I'm done with wearable tech, but if there's a dumb-smart watch out there that'll just vibrate on select phone alerts and no other bells & whistles/is otherwise a traditional watch.... I'm all ears.

Sort of tangential to fitness, but I suppose cycling is how I keep in a shape that isn't a sphere. I'm fixing my old 29" beach cruiser bike that's been mostly collecting rust the past few years. I sort of gave up on it after the back tire blew (I mean actually blew, only time I've ever had that happen on a bike), and I couldn't find a set of replacements (front had a few thousand miles on it and was also looking a little sketchy) with the proper tread that cost less than the bike did.

Well, recently I found out that the wheels are also sized to accept 700c tires, and picked up a pair of 700x45s for $25. Shipped separately, but the first one's here and installed, and it looks pretty good. Screwed up installing the new chain and had to take two links off, but it still fits with the wheel a little closer to the end of the dropout. Advantages of single speed, I suppose.

I started running outdoors when covid hit. In the beginning I wasn't able to run more than 2 miles continuously. Today I did a 9 mile run which was pretty cool to see the progress. I was on crutches in January so its an amazing feelin to be able to do this. Additionally I have been doing weight training 2 times a week and some yin yoga. Trying to eat healthier overall. I am down a size and feeling better overall. Good stuff.

The fitness center at my apt complex opened up again (with restrictions). I can finally use the treadmill again and work on my form! I'm able to run with my mask on! I'm pretty proud of that.
