On Saturday have to head to my university to go check some papers (am working as a TA). And then after that will probably start watching The Wire and start doing a course on Django/Javascipt that I've been eyeing for a while (also watch a few videos of Statistical Rethinking on YouTube). Besides all of this have a huge catalogue of books piled up that Ive been meaning to read for a long time now so will do that too in between breaks

EDIT: also recently I got the adobe creative cloud, planning on learning lightroom/photoshop/premiere pro/after effects/illustrator, anybody have any tips on which one I should start off with?

If you're concerned about technology even a little bit then you should consider moving towards Open Source software:

    Some recommended alternatives:

    • Firefox instead of Chrome
    • Linux Mint instead of Windows
    • SumatraPDF instead of Adobe
    • Fdroid instead of the Google Playstore
    • DuckDuckGo instead of Google Search

If you are looking for anything specific or wanting to get into the philosophy of why opensource then there are tons and tons of resources available online, for example just one that I found out through a simple search https://www.findbestopensource.com/projects

    and also

https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/shouldbefree.en.html (btw "free" software is different from "open source" software).

And lastly, this is a great YouTube channel; it covers a lot of stuff but two of his major talking points are open source software and linux

For people who dont know anything about it, visit /r/pakistan and then /r/india and see the stark change in opinion in what transpired, the truth lies somewhere in the middle of what both sides are propagating so you'll have to form your own opinion

Wanna finally get Arch up and running this year with i3 gaps and vim set up. And want to learn more back end web development and python/scripting. Besides that just finishing 1 book every 2 weeks (but not sure how I'll incorporate this given that some books are just a 100 pages while others are 1500+) and some more general stuff. Want to start learning Finnish grammar too

In my humble opinion France can demolish England (or the less likely option: Croatia). With Belgium it would have been up for a toss

Should the number of votes a comment be hidden on ~? Seems almost pointless to have it since you can't see the total number of votes you have (which is a good thing)

Pakistan, there is but most neighbouring countries are dealing with it way way better than us. Experts have been warning us for at least a decade now to start taking precautions; areas like Karachi have a really really bad artificial shortage of water, they have to pay for tankers and stuff for a ridiculous price because of the govt created shortage. Elections are coming up this year and I just hope that people don't vote for the same party that they have been voting for the past 20 years.. the leader of that party/our pm was ousted because of the Panama papers in his most recent term. Voting here in pk is a family sport
